Damn, this isn't good. This site is the center of the rpgmaker community, at least in my mind. If it were to go down forever, I'd be hard-pressed to find another site as well-known and successful.

True but that's why having strong rivalry is good although I don't see how going back to GW a feasible option...

Just as a quick question: I haven't noticed the site dying sans for the big downtime we had. I made some adjustments to MySQL, which was causing most of the issues, and haven't had to login and restart it for sometime. So, when was the last time the site was down for people sans for this big one?
Well, it had gotten so regular that I stopped paying close attention, but I'd say before that it was down for a few hours at least once a week...?
Sunday, don't remember when

Since I made tweaks to the site, I have yet to see it go down besides being viciously powered off.

Just a quick note for conspiracy theorists: the prolonged rpgmaker.net downtime was also experienced by other Think Services related sites such as Gamasutra. Our corporate benefactors have been very responsive for the most part, and I am still in communications with our liaison there. He actually browses the site. Hi Simon.

I actually think the reneged agreement worked out to our benefit, especially considering the epic failure that Indie Game Maker turned out to be. I might be biased considering I am now saving considerably on out-of-pocket expenses.

You also get all the ad money and don't have to do anything!

(Not that anyone does anything around here anyway)

I will consider it my pension. At the current rate of ad revenues, I will have earned back all the money I put into the site in approximately ten years... unless I start factoring in interest.
Maybe if all the ads weren't thinly veiled phishing scams posing as "games" I'd click them more.
well i wasn't worried
