LET'S TRY!

So I came up with an idea .. for awhile, I was thinking about how should I go about playing RM games or non-commercial games? I don't care enough to play it ahead of time to know the gig and come back to inform people or make funny comments. I am more concerned about helping people out with the development process. Though I didn't want to call it a Let's Play because the way this is conducted would be dramatically different.

It would be much more focused on feedback and commentary. I don't care and I won't even try to be funny. There might be longer pauses as I don't know what's going on - I suppose this is more like a live-beta testing session.

Hence the name: "Let's ... try."

Any thoughts? Any takers? ;) I might not be able to get to it for awhile, if at all. I also perfer RPGz onlyz gais sry. I am not a shooter person. I am awful at it so you won't get much feedback anyways. :-S
I actually like the idea but I'm not sure how good we can do it :<
I think YDS is saying more on focused on giving feedback and suggestions to developers than just playing it and say stuff I guess?
Kinda like a play by play review... I like it.

It's a good idea, although I don't think many will watch it if it's not funny :/

Well, amusing the masses isn't really the goal here, so that's not a concern.

I'm still willing to take you up on this, YDS!
It has to be at least interesting and engaging. It doesn't necessarily have to be funny, but a boring and soulless video of someone going on and on about game theory isn't going to win anyone over no matter how good the concept is.

Make no mistake, the concept is sound, but it's not a free ticket to be boring.

Never said it was.
I'm just saying! The vibe I got from the 'I don't care' and 'longer pauses' sort of scared me; I don't know what your style is like so I just want to make sure it's still an interesting experience with personality.

No. I didn't intend to convey that vibe. I am just saying that the primary focus of it isn't comedy or entertainment.

wut is dat suppose to mean
I think it's a great idea. Actually getting to watch over someones shoulder as they're playing your game is probably the most valuable way to locate design flaws and weaknesses. I think often times when I'm playing games I wind up getting stuck in places the designer never intended, but just failed to foresee. RPG battles for example often play out very differently with a real player than with the developer simply because they don't have the foresight of knowing it's abilities and weaknesses. Stuff often has a habit of being harder than anyone actually intends it to be.

Plus I think actually seeing someone struggle with your design is probably a lot less antagonizing than someone telling you they struggled with your game design in a review. So for those that have thinner skin and get defensive at the first sign of critique, it'd probably be a lot better way of pointing out issues with their game to them.

Welp. I think I'll give it a go. Any takers?
Yeah, I'd like to give it a go, with Dragon Kingdoms V.
Since the last person that was going to do a video series on it actually quit YouTube entirely. I wonder how many other takers there will be?
