MAC AND BLUE CASTLE CHIPSET, HOW TO?
Posts
Thanks everyone for helping me out. I can figure out the interior chipsets well enough. The hardest part, at least for me, in creating an rpg is just making the maps. It is was has been stalling this game and why I restarted over from scratch over 4 times on Amulet of Fate. So my new philosophy is, before I get too deep on creating the 'rest' of the RPG, I should probably finish ALL maps first, then start populating the rpg, since the worst part (For me anyway) is already over.
I used that chipset in Dragonlands. Here is a zoom-out on the map I made with it:
When using that chipset I recommend keeping it simple. VERY simple. Because what I did with it is basically all the set can do. :\

its funny because the player will never ultimately see the majority of that roof. So you probably spent a good deal of time on something the player probably won't see.
No, two different events in the game pan above the roof to show you the entire castle. If your game doesn't do that then I suppose don't bother.
??? I'm just confused now, weren't you asking for help with this chipset?

that's what they're supposed to look like. never seen gable roofing like that?
ah well, I am not claiming to be some expert map maker and game coder like badluck (whose games are awesome btw). I am just one person, with a spouse, a kid, a full time job where I serve my country, and working on my masters degree at the same time. I am really doing this in my spare time and even though the end result will mostly likely not be professional and a bit rough around the edges, I still hope people will enjoy what I've made.
We're almost all in the "I've got a job/kids/school" boat though, so it doesn't mean that much. Don't downplay yourself too much and just keep up the effort.

here is another chipset I don't readily know the usage of. I don't need anything extremely fancy, but a simple screen on how the wall structures are set up would be nice. A basic room would be even better. Thanks for any help. :)
