I think you're probably looking for this: RM2K General Utility. I know it says RM2K, but the included project security patch works for RM2K3 as well. There's some other neat stuff in there as well.

Also: locking your projects is obnoxious. If someone wants your resources, they're going to get them no matter what protections you put on it, and they're most likely not your resources in the first place. And if someone's bored enough with your game to want to cheat with CTRL-walking or other junk, then if they can't, they'll probably just ditch the game anyway.

This. Nothing says pretentious like "how dare you profane my masterpiece of role-playing game making editor expertise!" Oblivion lets you add what you want (TESCK) and do anything when you press the ` key.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I don't really have a problem with locking projects. Anti-cheating mechanisms are probably a good thing. If a game has the ability to easily cheat, there are tons of people who will be compelled to cheat, regardless of how fun the game is with or without cheating. People want to be more powerful with less work, it's a subconscious thing, it has nothing to do with feeling that the game would be better if it were easier and everything to do with the fact that the cheating is available with a single button press. Tell the truth, if in your favorite RPG of all time you could hit the Y button to gain a free level at any time, you would be seriously tempted to fucking do it, even though it would ruin the game.

If you just don't want people to steal your battke animations, I think it's ineffective and probably hypocritical, but I can't blame you.

waaaah I want to cheat because I'm automatically assuming that your game sucks and is boring
I am a firm believer in saving whenever I need to and if you're game won't do it then by Jingo you can bet I'll fix that!

(also you can also cheat just by hacking the game's memory and doing stuff like, say, freezing current HP)

If this were true then why do people play Oblivion legitimately even though you could just press ` and then tgm. I'd rather them use a built-in system to do it safely instead of hack the crap out of my game's memory and really mess things up, ruining a fun gaming experience.
There is no proof indicator that people do or do not cheat in Oblivion so your post is kinda weird there.

Anyway, Like i said, i could just encrypt it myself in a different way. but since earlier RPG MAKERS have the cntrl cheat and the fact I can't really sue anybody over my creations because they are not copyrighted, total the idea of encrypting 2003 below games just horrible.

But my questions is, Why the heck did ASCII make a game that has an option to be ditributed, but people can pull up and steal your game? That sounds like something Microsoft would do! ASCII probably just igured out wht security was in XP.

Youtube and youtube. Also, you can pick up guides for ultimate cheating and guides for doing your best playing legit. Wow this sounds like... Almost any game!

I wouldn't be surprised if whatever you use to encrypt the game either filters out potential players or just simply annoys players to the point of dumping the game.

1. All versions of RM have this feature.
2. It is a feature designed primarily for debugging purposes and is only available when the game is played via the editor, otherwise known as Test Play.

Actually, if you create anything from scratch (ie: your original creation) then you are the copyright owner, theoretically speaking. To sue or not, I won't get into.

Encryption on RM games in general is just horrible.

The fact is people do not pull up and steal RM games; the most people do is examine how a certain game was designed so they can learn from it and/or slightly modify the game if they find some parts unsatisfactory. Some people just prefer to play games through the editor as well.

As for Windows XP, Microsoft, and security, I have no clue what you're rambling about.

To add, most of these "cheat" functions were merely a way for the developers to test play things quickly. The Contra Code was a version of this.
