If you don't know what this is about and have some time to kill, get caught up at http://chaosedge.wordpress.com/press-releases/.
Edit: Today's news, that in addition to having his injunction against EA denied, he now also has lost his trademarks. http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/30891/Judge_Orders_Langdell_To_Notify_Licensees_Of_Edge_Trademark_Cancellations.php

Hahahahaa yes! I've followed this for awhile.
Has anyone bothered to read the actual transcript? I've never been a huge fan of EA's evil megacorporation ways, but this is pretty badass. Don't fuck with a real legal department, you lying low-life bastard.
Hopefully the evidence EA dug up will help smaller companies block future injunctions as well.

Kaempfer: Edited OP to include separate news story from today. He has officially been stripped of his trademarks, and must notify all of his licensees that he no longer owns them (as well as copies of his denied injunction and ruling). Because his trademarks were fraudulently obtained, every company that has paid any money to license "Edge" from him could sue his ass off.
Yay for EA. ( ̄▽ ̄)ノ
post=209722I skimmed through it last night. It was pretty great.

Basically, all of his trademarking and whatnot was basically FRAUDULENT. That's right. He LIED in his submissions to get the word EDGE (and 5 others like CUTTING EDGE and THE EDGE) trademarked/registered. He manipulated photos in his submissions, lied about dates, and a host of other things, and EA's lawyers tracked it all down and exposed it all.
It was pretty great.
Never heard of him until now.
Trademarking the word "Edge"... Really? He even has the nerve to sue other, smaller companies after lying his ass in his submissions off to get his ridiculous trademarks.
Good riddance.

Serves him right for sucking money out of the pockets of game devs, especially the small-time indie devs that can't defend themselves. He's the legal equivalent of a middle-school bully.
What an arrogant fucking douchebag he must be to even think that he could win against EA and its bottomless coffers.
