LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

You don't need a title to do something like that. All the things you complained the staff isn't doing, the staff doesn't have to do them because anyone can. Ankylo is an admin, but why is he expected to start a magazine/contest/whatever?
The staff for this site was built to make sure the site functions; not to make up for all the members (including yourself) for doing nothing and expecting someone else to do it.
While I see where you're coming from, when things like that are done by normal members in the forums they just become that member's buzz, not the site's buzz.
More importantly, though, I think it's just really hard to draw attention to something when it's done that way. If you want to make things automated, that's fine, but can't they be automated in a way that allows them to be promoted? As an example, take the Let's Try videos that have been so popular the last few months. These exist entirely on the forums. A staff member with initiative should see something like this and decide, "Oh, this has potential," and create an automated method of creating, requesting, submitting, featuring, and possibly hosting these videos, and add a main link at the top of the page between Blogs and Writing. Contests could get the same treatment. Almost anything that is popular or repeated many times on the forums could get the same treatment.
I also agree that the front page could stand to have a somewhat better method of deciding what appears on it, but I don't have any ideas for how to do that.
I also have a Dumbledore's Army of secret staffers at my disposal, ready to obey my every whim.
Also, I don't know how to check in code to the production site.
Also also, if WIP didn't want me messing with the code, he would just deny me access to the repository (and not just "MUAHAHA I DIDN'T COMMENT MY CODE GOOD LUCK KENTONA MUAHAHAHA!!")

You upload pictures of dead, bloody animals. Your "awesomeness" is being a sick, depraved child.
Just to put it out there; I hope my ideas are considered in some capacity. I found Necropolis on nothing but sheer luck. Turned out to be one of the best looking games around here.
Something like that deserves a little more than someone 'stumbling' on it, assuming that a lot of people are looking at it. I hope you consider my ideas to add a section to sort games/userpages/blogs on their number of clicks/views, at least on a weekly basis.

If Necropolis had a download, it would at the very least have a place in my "Games Released in 20XX" section, which has changed to include some info about the game, its reviews, and whether or not it has a Let's Try, as well as advice for the developer, if any.
I guess I could have a small section for upcoming games, too, it's just that so often, they don't actually release.

The thing with my idea is that I want it to be constantly rotating, with emphasis on 'weekly' or a similar timeframe. I don't want one game to have the spotlight for too long and other games to be ignored, which is why I emphasis a 'Top 5' (so even if one game has the most downloads/views/comments for more than one rotation, there's still four other potential games to get recognized) format and for that format to be constantly refreshed.
That way, popular games get their site granted '15 minutes of fame' (and any subsequent fame/exposure they'd have to work for), not so popular games get something to strive towards (getting their game/concept out there), and players know what's hot and it gives them a recommendation on what to check out.

Just keep in mind we don't have 260 games a year on this site that are completed, or at least are complete enough to get the full experience. We'd very shortly run out of games to talk about, as sad as that is. If you're talking about doing this with demos, well, I think it would be silly to highlight Legends of the Crystals VII: Towards a New Journey the week before it is listed as Cancelled on its gameprofile. Because the author ran out of time/lost the game files/just got bored of it/etc.
Also Idida1, one dead animal is one too many. Can he please get off my
