THREE QUESTIONS ABOUT RPG MAKER 2000/3

CloseHi everyone, I'm new here, but definitely not new to RPG Maker. I've been using it for probably 6-7 years now... And not a single completed RPG to show of it. Oh well.
Anyway, I have 3 questions.
1. This is sort of a stupid question, but if I recall, RM2K3 supports MP3 music files, not RM2K, correct? I would check myself, but I'd rather not end up having to download both.
2. This question is of great importance to me. Is there any possible way to make a character's overworld sprites any larger than the charsets limit? By ways of perhaps not using charsets at all?
3. Now this is more of a request, I need some help finding a game that was for RM2K/3. It was a sidescroller kind of game, where you were some little demon guy with wings who had a gun I believe, and you could fly around in all 4 directions, and you pretty much progressed through this dungeon. Does this ring a bell to anybody?
I would greatly appreciate it if anybody could help me out.

2. There are ways, but it's pretty complicated if you're a beginner. I doubt I could begin to tell you how to do it myself.

Complicated, shnomplicated. If there is a way, I will never give up until I figure it out. I hate the size limitations of RPG Maker... And how huge the screens are. I'll probably end up using a border, too.

This is basically my way of saying that I know my way around RPG Maker. I'm not some coding genius, but I know RPG Maker like the back of my hand.

In that case, one way you could do it is using pictures. It'd be tricky though, but people have done things like this before (one example I can think of being Dhux's Scar.)

I'm not entirely sure, but I think that game I was looking for had larger-than-normal sprites for the main character.
By the way, thanks for the link, I posted my question there.
I'd probably have to use a charset, but an empty one. And using pictures, I could make some event that moves the picture when the character moves... Or something.

You can also make it with battle animations. Make a parallel event that shows a battle animation on top of the hero. Make the hero an invisible sprite.

That's also a good idea. Invisible hero sprite, picture of bigger sprite on top of it. When the hero moves right, the picture disappears, battle animation of movement plays/ends, picture appears again.
EDIT: Just got one more question. Is there any way to make RM2K3's battle system like the RM2K one? In other words, eliminate the battle gauge system?

You don't really need pictures.
2: Yes, be designing a custom battle system from scratch. But it shouldn't be SUPER hard. Just hard.

Well that would suck. I found a way to convert MP3s into wav files, so maybe I will use 2K.
Hmm, another question. Does there exist a list anywhere of the changes between RM2K and RM2K3? That would be darn helpful...

Perhaps you should use rm2k instead of rm2k3, there are patchs for rm2k to play mp3s, to use bigger charas, and well, you can use the default battle system all you want...
