I've been rough-sketching up tilesets and backgrounds, and a menu too. Going to try to code the menu later today. I've been having issues with the background-foreground separation and color. Don't really like the dark foreground at the moment.

I didn't intend to have a boss battle at the end of the Sloth floor because of the events that occur, but I'm going to anyway and get the player to save before I play out the rather long cutscene that follows.
I think I'm probably going to base her on Flandre Scarlet from Touhou, sort of mixed with the girl from Interview with the Vampire. She's your first actual vampire encounter in the game (though they have been a heavy plot point all throughout) so I want to make her sort of alluring in her innocence, that you just want to hug and hold her, but when she gets all vampire on yo ass you want to run for the hills.
She isn't even a true vampire. THEY'RE the real scary ones. (check BR's first blog for vampire info and lore in the game)

@Nessiah: I don't know if that chipset is custom or not but I recall using one that was similar and it was one of my favorites due to the the awesome colors and the overall feel of it so I'm to see something with that style. The menu is good too but to me it feels like it over the top with decorations or maybe it's just too visible or something.
@thernz: Awesome menu system. There is great use of space and I'm always a fan of black and white. What's the setting you are planning for the game if you are even making a game?

@arcan I'm probably not going to keep the black and white. I'm aiming for a parchment, black, and red color scheme to it. I want the menu to have a sort of quasi-scroll feel to it. Everything is really just placeholder there, especially the fonts.
It's set in China, specifically the idyllic and pastoral landscapes you see in old Chinese propaganda posters. So I'm aiming for a sort of painterly feel for the it.

A layout for a battle system which I started coding as something to do instead of the competition that was issued to my Games Dev group. I was having a problem fitting character info in until I remembered I can increase the view size and extended it width ways to be 16:9 not 4:3
Now I have the problem of deciding between my original layout, which will now work, or the more "Compact" one I made instead... hmm.

I just did something really stupid. I opened my rm2k3 game with the original rm2k without thinking, edited some maps, and opened it up in test play. I realized I was playing it in rm2k once it was too late... all of my character stats in the database were set to 1 as soon as I opened it up again in rm2k3. v_v I'm not too far into development, so it's no big deal. Learned my lesson. Gotta be more careful.
I forgot for a little while that I hate mapping, so I was mapping. But then I remembered it, and now I'm not mapping anymore. Yay! =)

Gritting my teeth and struggling to *stay focused* on starting finishing Backstage 2 when my ability to use RMVX and therefore make RPG RPGs has been restored.
The temptation to start *new projects* is strong, and I have consistently failed at resisting it.

What I'm doing is making intros to some of my games, and I properly work on them some time on random occassions.
I wrote up Tier Prophecies some time ago, though Word, and still progressing a walkthorough for it, and making it in rpg maker. Properly half way though Act 2 in word. Just introducting it now.
