@dethmetal - That's actually a very good idea, since I've been doing the same thing with my story for the past 8 months or so, now, just to make sure that everything is right and I can plan out everything else around the story scenes and sequences when it's finished. Probably a better idea than just going blindly into the night and type the bloody thing as you progress through the game; eventually, you'll need to return to the story and fix it because so much has changed when you finish the game in the end, so kudos. ^^
Speaking of stories...today's list of events for me include:
* Writing down two new game ideas to the ever expanding list (up to 112 with a ton of older games to type down when I get a chance)
* The Aquatic Adventures Of Scuba Steve's final music tune-up's (finished Sugar's last night as I -- really -- didn't need to much for that game).
* Story proof reading / editing (or, what I like to call: New Game +, but with reading! READING!!! Should be some fun!)
* Final equipment / character list to be finished during the week.
* Play Monopolo (seriously, I need a break and need to play SOMETHING!)
This is the last week of prep shit. Hard to believe I've been doing this since around March or so... So, I'll be happy when it's all over and the real fun can begin. Hopefully, doing all the planning will make the game a lot easier to design and finish with everything pretty much done for me.
So, yeah, off to work. :D

Yeah I'm doing the same thing with my current project because it's pretty huge. I've gotten the first part of the game done (its split into three parts to minimise map use and graphics due to me using parallaxes and to make working on it easier).
Right now I'm revising some scenes in CC and thinking about Grad tomorrow. But mostly revising scenes.

Good stuff, I've also been programming my own 2D game engine in java, progressing very well so far.
Game engine? Platformer, RPG or..?
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

author=dethmetalFor a split second I misread this and thought you were making the Bible into a video game.
I'm working on a game design document at the moment; in other words, a game "Bible".
As for design documents, I have about 15 pages on my game, but... every time I make a scene I end up veering away from the written design and having to change my document. For example, at some point my setting changed from spanning a Victorian era nation to spanning three cities in the 1980s. With about five other iterations in between, each with different levels of anachronistic technology.
author=Yellow Magic2D Platformer for now, I hope to customize it to make a beat'em up engine.author=supremewarriorCheers, but don't be surprised if I post "fgsfds I quit" in a couple of days. 8(

Sounds spiffy. Good luck with that. 8)
After an hour and then some I've finally finished downloading some new models/music/textures/etcs for my project..
Now to redo ALL OF THE THINGS!!
EDIT: feel obliged to say that my downloads are legal and anything can be done with them (as long as it's not commercially done)

1/2 finished making floor tile. Gonna finish that before I go to sleep. Then gonna make some random pipes and vases.
Just doing some remaining touches to The Aquatic Adventures Of Scuba Steve's, such as some gameplay mechanics I wanted to add in and, of course, final OST fix-up's. I'm still working on Stalk Ticker, but thought a change of pace for a few days was something of a good thing.
Of course, I'll showcase some of the OST's whenever I happen to get my e-mail / Youtube account unbanned...which shouldn't be too much longer. :D

And to add on to this, just had to copy over 7 GB of files and reinstall some software because I couldn't figure out some strange texture glitch.. Fixed now though just need to merge the backups with some of the original textures and through it all back into the program's folder
EDIT: and to add on to that, apparently I didn't fix it and had to reinstall everything. Fixed it now and didn't lose any data :D
and while that was going on, got some more entities to work with

I am working on a Mini type state. I have to shrink all of my actor sprites. URGGH.
Or just make everything biggerrrrr. In a shrunken state, you can have characters go through cracks in walls and add a new dimension to maps :-)
To plug my own stuff... Just did a 90 minute playthrough and Youtube upload of SMBX Mario's Mansion to discover it didn't catch the audio. Seems like 13 hours wasted.
I've been working on drawing some maps but they take a lot of energy away from me, still not yet done too and lots of things to consider. =_=;
That looks really good, Ness! It looks like the cliff sides are a little too sharp though. They look almost too bright when compared to the tree, the stones, and the sprite. Then again, I am only functioning at 50% visual acuity right now so it might just be me.
Isometric game engine in Java
Trying to work out if there is a way to make a camera that allows the player to pan up, down, left and right using their mouse in the default java libraries.

*sigh*
Six new game ideas to add to the list (one being a sports game! Yay!), as well as adjust a few things with Stock Ticker & The Aquatic Adventures Of Scuba Steve's OST. It seems that this is taking its sweet time considering they have the largest amount of songs than my other two games.
...I haven't really been getting a lot of time on my projects, as of late. I guess not playing a lot of video games probably helps to that cause. I dunno, I guess I would say, that I am in a bit of funk but not really in a funk. Guess I'm a bit burnt out at the moment with everything that is going on... But progress is comin' along...eventually.
Also, considering re-releasing Monopolo back up on RMN on December 20th during its One Year Birthday! But, also keep in mind, if I don't happen to re-release it on the front page, than I really doubt it will ever see the light of day back on the site...just depends, I guess.

LEGEND OF JIPANG
Funny anecdote: I originally had this game idea for VX, or at least the premise. One thing I did before getting bored and moving on was make a blank map of Japan basically tracing it via an image I found on Google (and some of the surrounding area) onto a 310x360 map. I wanted to reuse this in Ace (Legend of Jipang 'n all) but fuck recreating that map again. So I copied it into Ace via a bunch of convoluted steps!
So I deleted all the sample maps but one and created a new one. This put Map002.rvdata2 into the data folder after a testplay to get the game to save the map+db data to the project data folder. Then I took my map I made in VX and copied it over the new Map002.rvdata2. The map won't show up in the editor yet and doing anything to it will make the editor overwrite the VX map so just put the start position in the other sample map, testplay so the editor saves changes (none to Map002) and reload the map data after testplay is complete. Bam! My awful map of Japan is now in Ace!
Working around 10 events per map is going to be a bit more difficult but I already have a few ideas for that.
