Hey, make want you want, but if you're trying to make this more festive than the other ones then you should probably pick a holiday with more traditions than New Year's Eve/Day. =/

But fireworks are pretty festive, especially when coupled with alcohol. New Years Eve/Day is actually very traditional if you're looking at the Chinese new year in February. Perhaps a game that combines the New Year celebrations of all cultures would be interesting.

I have no idea what you are talking about or trying to suggest. :/
Elimination idea:
1) Each week (or two weeks, or whatever), competitors submit a new and tiny game
2) Judges weed out, say, half of them each time; the rest move on
3) When it gets down to the last three or four, judges actually do scores instead of eliminating
Map swap idea:
1) Some people make at least 10-15 decent-sized maps using an RM* program
2) Map packs are submitted to a judge, who looks them over for general quality/lack of stupidity, then randomly assigns them to the other participants (maps are not made for a specific person, just a specific maker)
3) Second batch of people makes a short game that uses all of the maps
4) Results are judged

this actually sounds really fun! the only shortcoming that's really apparent is the lack of friendliness towards using programs that aren't RM*.
