Cave Story, arguably the most well-known and highly praised indie game ever, is hitting the DSiWare shop on the 29th of this month (a week away!).
I've bought this for WiiWare already. I'm buying it again, because I like the idea of being able to play this on a handheld device.

Confirmed, this is now available on DSiWare for 1000 points, or $10. Just downloaded my copy... will let you all know how it translates to two smaller resolution screens!
So I see they still haven't fixed Balrog's dialogue. I'd probably get this if I didn't have to own a DSi.

Why is the boss life bar tiny now?
The DSi screen resolution is only 256×192, where Cave Story is intended for 320x240. Nicalis stated they didn't want to modify any of the game's original artwork, so some cropping and size changes were made for the port.
For the record, the game looks, sounds, and plays just as beautifully as ever.
But... it just used to be a red bar across the bottom of the screen. Now it's tiny. I mean, it's not a DEAL-BREAKER, it just seems like a poor choice to make it so small when it's just... draw_rectangle(x,y,x2,y2,redplz).

As per designer Tyrone Rodriguez of Nicalis:

The way the boss meter is sized now works just fine!
The idea of scaling down the artwork was thrown out almost instantly, as all of Pixel's artwork is pretty iconic. We had no intention of ruining it by scaling down. That left one obvious option: crop the screen.
That's exactly what we've done, but in doing so moved some of the display and UI around so that it won't get in the way of the player. The health meter and weapons now occupy a predominantly horizontal spot on the upper portion of the top screen. The Boss Meter was shortened to not get in the way of the player in certain battles.
