OK, I seriously need to get my hands on a version of Photoshop 7.0 or higher, preferably 7.0. Is the going price of that software SERIOUSLY around $500!? Or is $50.00 correct??? I see it at both prices at many different places and I'm confused as of to which one to spend my money on... Obviously, if I can avoid the $500.00 one, I would love to.
Help any one please! @_@

Photoshop has always been expensive.
If it's $50, it is either a scam or Photohop Elements, which is not the same program. If you are a student at any college or highschool (at least within the USA), you can get some pretty significant discounts on it.
Honestly, unless you are doing digital photography, I'd pass on it. There are better/cheaper programs for illustration/spriting that will not rape your wallet.

Well, a file I had been given had been in a .psd format... I actually just went out on a limb and attempted to open it in GIMP... Unbelievably... It OPENED! Kars, thanks for replying and helping out as always as much as you always can. :)
just for the record, 500 bucks is pretty normal for a high-end piece of software like photoshop. if you're really getting into digital media production, ponying up for the adobe master collection is totally worth it, but for general use, GIMP works GREAT.
