THE PUBLIC SHOULD VOTE FOR THE NEXT FEATURED GAME
Posts
from StrangeluvFunny you should mention that. We were considering it as the next possibility.
I vote for Space Funeral.
Anyway, we're also considering ways of involving the community more in the decision of games to feature, so maybe we should talk about that in this thread too.
from narcodisI vote we remove narcodis.
I vote we remove the featured game.
The game has received indie acclaim and has even been featured among the best games of the year including Mass Effect 2 and Kirby's Epic Yarn. Why pray tell is it just a possibility
Well, voting would be good for the following reasons:
- People wouldn't complain (as much) afterwards;
- It would motivate people to play more games, so they could pick one;
- The discussion would make people give more attention to the featured game;
- Basically, it's just good ok

Yeah, at this point it would be retarded to not feature it.

Well... not really. Maybe you want to featured a game so it can get more attention, so it can get the attention it deserves. Space Funeral does have the attention it deserves already. :D
But yeah, let's see.
Damn right we should be able to vote for the featured games. Also, rmn needs a poll system. Like GameFaqs.
I should download space funeral...
I should download space funeral...
author=Strangeluvalso featured with VVVVVV, Deadly Premonition, Splinter Cell Conviction, Heavy Rain, and God of War III so i don't think that means a whole lot

that said please feature Space Funeral
Isn't the point of having a featured game to bring something to the spotlight that members might otherwise have not noticed? If it's determined by voting, then the only games which would hit the front page are the ones that already have significant exposure.
Solitayre
The staff picks Features based on a variety of factors. Right now we pick only complete games, though this wasn't always the case. Generally, we try to find a game that is high quality, but we also try to mix up the genres from month to month, represent the various different game-making programs, as well as highlight different creators instead of the same few over and over. (although we can't help that a high number of complete, quality games come from the same few people.) We also try to Feature newly completed games, though we also feature old classics. If we feel like a good game has gone under the radar, we will sometimes Feature a game to put the spotlight on it. If a game wins a contest, there's a good chance it might get featured as well.
There are a number of reasons that games can get featured. That is one of them, yes. Personally I don't see why the fact that Space Funeral is popular should prevent it from becoming even more popular. Shouldn't we praise great success like this?

AN OBSCURE €0 BUDGET RPG MAKER GAME featured with VVVVVV, Deadly Premonition, Splinter Cell Conviction, Heavy Rain, and God of War III so i think that means a whole lot
It would be kind of embarrassing for RMN to feature it now, but whatever. The important thing is that people stumbling on the site or casual visitors find out about it.
Space Funeral as featured game here means nothing and is just fanwank. It has 356 downloads on RMN; all of its popularity is far, far from RMN.
catmitts is a cool dude but he is not God. (Not that I agree with recent choices anyway, which is apparently caused by PASS THE BLAME from my investigations)

<kitty_purry> You must all be pretty sick of these blogs by now but I just wanted to make that joke! Also Space Funeral has been picked as one of the 20 Best Games Of 2010 by Paste Magazine
haha, like, you really need to sit down and kind of gasp at how rmn staffers treat their members games. it's like everyone else on the internet but 2 random rmn staffers "get" that this game is pretty neat and creative. fyi dudes, having cool games that people overall enjoy on the mainpage generates new users to come here and possibly hang out.
i just find it weird that space funeral was posted here first and then after all this exposure it is still not featured game. real good way to reward successful games here.

I vote for Corfaisus' games.
Even I say nay.
Despite the fact that they're awe-inspiring and most worthy of praise.
Space Funeral should have been featured months ago. Featuring it in January... Well I just don't see the point.
EDIT: I also disagree with voting. Legendary Legend is the first featured game that has created some discussion and poo-flinging. I say we continue this trend and feature something even worse next time! (I suggest Pumpkin Night. So if we go for votes. Everyone vote Pumpkin Night, it'll be awesome)
