The little rmn logo in the upper left hand corner now takes you back to the front page when you click on it.
woo! was hoping for this.

cool, noticed just now.

it's a bit much to ask but I would like a basic chat engine so I can spend more time goofin' around here than working.

Agreed.
Added a way to delete multiple files from your locker:

When you click on the delete button next to a locker file it will become disabled and display a cancel button next to it. Once you click the delete button these files are now marked for deletion. If you change your mind, you can click on the cancel button to unmark them. When you are ready to delete the marked files, simply hit the update button at the bottom of your locker.

Also, if you have files marked for deletion and you hit the Public / Private button, it will delete the files (because it submits the form).

Also fixed:

-Pagination for users when managing a game that has more than 10 users associated with it.

-Developers being able to delete other developers from a gamepage (but not themselves). Now, only the person who submitted the game can add / remove users to a gamepage.

-Users will receive a notification when they receive an achievement.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or an improvement, but I'd like to be able to look at my posting history and see the comments I made on images.

It doesn't?? hrmm...
Okay, 2 quick items added:

-an indicator on gameprofiles for games that have been featured in the past
-proper filesize calculations for your locker

EDIT:
-post counts show in Review list.

This is the strangest thing... Some screens seem to "allow" it but most of them don't. Look, I just posted in both these screens:

http://rpgmaker.net/games/650/images/2428/ - Forever's End
http://rpgmaker.net/games/1352/images/17031/ - Eriscadia

But notice how only the post I made in the Forever's End screen shows up in my posting history. In fact, looking around people's profiles you'll notice that is pretty rare to see posts made on screens, which is odd because is what some of us do the most around here. (besides posting Youtube videos ^^;)

Why does this happens? I don't know, but what I know is that is kind of chore when you comment on a screen of a game you're not subscribed to, then that screen falls off the front page, and then you have to go looking for that game to find out if the author replied to you or not... so yeah, uhh, fix please?
oh I know whats going on. its the same issue as the Latest Posts list on the front page. (It is attempting to strip out posts from the private staff forums, but in doing so stripping out ALL posts where the parent object ID doesn't match up with a thread ID from a public forum)

We have about 8500 threads in RMN (for example, this thread is ID 7582). If the ID of, say, the image, or blog, or review or article does NOT happen to coincide with thread with the same ID that is in a public forum, it is being stripped out!

So, for your example, there is no thread ID that match 17031, but there IS a thread ID for 2428: http://rpgmaker.net/forums/topics/2428/

I think I can fix this.

EDIT:
nevermind. I cannot fix this easily.

I will need to implement something more fundamental to fix this that will require a database change (amongst other things).

It shouldn't require a database change. The problem is that you have to write one hell of a query that doesn't easily fit into Django's ORM that will return Post objects.

Django has some other queryset methods that should be able to do the trick but will require some reworking in places that use the latest_posts method. I had started poking into it but didn't finish.

How about a bar listing who's on at the moment? It's nice to know who's available to talk to.
This isn't currently feasible because the site doesn't give a crap who is on. It holds on to sessions in a way that doesn't let it easily peer into who is actually logged in. There's a lot of fun fuzzy logic having to figure out who is actually "online" based solely on active sessions. The list you see on other sites/forums (sans for Facebook) is actually a wild guess, at best.

Yep. That is the problem (that I can't overcome). So I am hoping to add a isPrivate flag to the posts table, set it when a post is posted by checkin the "publicness" of the parent object, and implement a isPublic method for all potential parent objects.

Of course, the drawback is that this is not retroactive (so if a post was made on a private gameprofile that was later made public, welp! The post would still be private. But as far as I can tell the latest_posts logic is only applied to the feed on the frontpage, and in the user profile post history. Having a post marked as Private does not affect its visibility in the place it is posted.)

I did fix the Latest Posts query, but the solution involved splitting the list into forum and non-forum posts, applying the query you wrote to just the forum posts, grabbing the top 5 from each list, and recombining the lists and sorting. But sorting is costly. (it is okay for 10 items, but for 236,000....yeah, I hung the dev server)

You could add a mechanism to game profiles when they do go active, to toggle all their child posts to public. Forums rarely get toggled so it isn't as big of a deal.

Unfortunately though, game profiles can be active automatically just by having the date stuff expire. This does seem a bit hokey anyway, and it might be worth it to just switch the whole thing to being an on/off switch. That would make sure that all the posts get toggled.

yep, I am strongly considering that, too. :)

I just need to find all the places where date available is referenced.

It shouldn't be too rough as the date_available is stored in the submission data. All the methods that pull stuff out with submissions will have that stuff, so just edit it there. There's a few other places where the joins are crazier that will need to be modified.
Can we get a "Quote" button? Like something similar to the "Image" button, but adds quote tags instead of img tags?

:O

I know this isn't what you mean, but ankylo could probably do that. However, all improvement work is on hold at the moment (for some reason).

This is actually already there, I just need to delete the cached js and restart the server to make it show up.

Can we get more categories for userpages?

Like artist, composer, or maybe we can have a fill-in-the-blank category?
