RPG MAKER VX: TOP 5
Posts
Hey guys!
I think I've told you before but I work for a website (I write articles for them) and I cover things related to RPG Maker VX.
Since I don't have the time to play all the RPG Maker VX games here, I'd like to know what you consider to be the best 5 completed games for RPG Maker VX (ranking them from 1 to 5).
I'll then try the games myself and put a top 5 together.
I'll probably put "Les yeux sans visage" in the lot.
Thank you.
A short, one line explanation as to why you liked this or that game would be appreciated.

Best way to find out would probably be to click on the 'Games' tab on this site and search for Completed RMVX games, viewing from highest rating down.
@Kentona -Surprisingly, yes. O_O

It doesn't have to be 5 ^__^.
I thought of doing that, dezz123, but I would like to read a line or two why you liked this game or that one (as opposed to full reviews).

Hmmm....I can only think of two off the top of head that I enjoyed. Avarice and Castle Chase were both very enjoyable (though I haven't beaten Avarice, not by a long shot).
For Avarice, I liked the visual aspects of the game, such as battle animations and character artwork. The battle mechanics were also very enjoyable with satisfying character customization.
For Castle Chase, it's simply a matter of "gotta catch 'em all". I wanted every single ending unlocked. The game play was very addicting.

My favourites would have to be:
Legionwood: Tale of Two Swords.
It was a normal JRPG which has some pretty good gameplay, and it's playable for around 18 hours +. It has nice visual aspects, and it has some great and unique features.
Avarice.
The visual aspects of this game was fantastic. It has a great battle system (ABS), with a mouse-touch interface, where you handled most things with the mouse. It also had some pretty good, interesting features.
SkYscrapeR.
This is really unique. It's a challenging puzzle-type game, with extremely well-thoughtout challenges, making it fun and difficult at the same time.
The Cartographer.
This game was great. It has great custom graphics, a fun battle system, and just a fun overall. This game isn't really that long, but it's still very good.
One Night.
This is a fantastic horror game, with a decent gameplay time. It's pretty challenging, but with it's unique graphics, fun battle system, and it's challenging gameplay, it's certainly worth it.

Are there 5 completed VX games?
lmao.
I enjoyed Legionwood alot. Prophecy: The Demon Kingdom is great but sadly unfinished :(
Thank you so much for your contributions.
I finished my article this morning (Quebec time). Depending on how popular the article is, I might write some more in the future. I'll try to cover two games in each article on the topic.
I also included a review of RMN on the second page.

SkyE (I apologize if I just failed and SkyE was actually XP.)
I *thought* I released an edited version of To Arms! like eight months ago. Sorry if I did not in fact do that! In any case, since the soundtrack never happened, if I work on To Arms! again it will probably be to start Episode 2.
Legionwood does everything you'd expect a traditional RPG to do and the One Night series is pretty solid. Geondun would be good if Craze would friggin' finish anything ever... same goes for To Arms! with a few fixes.

Avarice, Skye, Castle Chase, Cartographer, Skyscraper are the ones on top of my head right now. V&V is undergoing a remake-ish I heard so lol

SkyE (I apologize if I just failed and SkyE was actually XP.)You got me worried for a second there:
SkyE is developed entirely in RPG Maker VX from scratch starting from September 10th, completed on November 1st!
Thanks for the other suggestions. I only covered SkyE and Eyes without a face in this one but we'll cover more if the article get enough views.
