HOW DO I SET THE SCALE SIZE IN RMXP?
Posts
I would ragequit the game in an instant. Oh, and it'd give an amazing ammount of work to fill that much empty space. I guess it was just for testing purposes, tough. xD
Also, big charsets / chipsets = more detailed envoirmental collision settings.

So you'd ragequit Hero's Realm for having a huge world map? And how would you know the size of what the map it is you're on? You'd only have a problem if you had to walk forever and saw the same things scroll by like a Hannah Barbara cartoon.
Actually I did get enraged on Hero's Realm for the low walking speed and the enormous world map, and for the fact I soon got killed by wolves on the mountains after all that slow walking and had to restart. That before I knew the game's mechanics...
Second time around I did better, and didn't die. But yeah, the big world map annoyed me... at first, but it was an awesome world map! I should get back to playing it BTW. and that's an exception. It's outdoor, and worldmaps are supposed to be big . Say, a huge indoors map or dungeon, especially on XP where lag rules over all... Ack. You know how would it be.

Huge maps are not my style, too much lag, too much work to fill 'em in. Yeeesh I cant stand walking in an area that takes 10 minutes just to get to the next town however impresive the graphics are unless their no random enemy encounters and some good scenery otherwise grind-fest just to go buy a potion?
Anyway, I dont mind that Mode 7 makes some stuff as you walk along pixley as long as its all in proportion I dont see that as a problem. Also I see what you mean of having to make a huge tileset just for such a sprite size so I might resize it to a reasonable level but still big enough to see the details and such so its looks like how its suposed to look. Drawn and custom made not sprited. I admire spriters but I feel like It would be best for me to draw everything out, its easy for me since I have all the resources I need in my little make-shift game studio plus I recently got a lightbox so I can hand draw any animation I need.
Theirs one small problem with Mode 7. The backgrounds need to be almost as big as the entire map so you dont see the end of the image and also I might need to work out a way to make some of the tiles to stop from floating around when you get too far, I'll post some screenies tommorow or later today after I get back from work.
