Or some other things that you have to find and are relatively hard?

A bank system could erase the boringness. :D
I recall a scene on BoF 2 when you had to give away all your money to Rand, I think. Bank's a lifesaver! <3
Here's a fine example of the bad way of doing it: Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. At the end of the game, you are given no indication you have to lose a specific battle to get one of the two real endings. Instead, if you win it, like you damn well should with all your kick-butt skillz, you get the worst ending in the game and not even a chance to save and start up a New Game+. You game just ends. And if you're some godly level 200, etc. It takes forever for the bosses to whittle down your hp so you can just lose the battle. Its annoying and frankly uncalled for, especially since they give you no warning they're gonna pull an unbeatable battle on you.
