I was wondering if somebody could help me out with running poses for four characters ? Trust me, I tried ...
Have you tried tracing paper, some photo reference on someone running and a scanner? You could resize them to sprite level and use such a template as a basis. Just an idea, if you want it to be strict sprites like the default ones you can do some fishing off "Google peer" for a template. Running is just exaggerated walking anyway. Shouldn't be too hard-ass. And no, most of the time no one helps with custom spriting.... most of the time ( I know its hard sometimes but it takes so much time that most of the time someone would rather make their own custom sprites than help others, sorry just being honest ) Good luck with that
Are you looking for running in 4 frames, or just running in general?

If you want a standard 2K/XP/VX running sprite - that's a big challenge since 4 frames isn't enough, standard running is 8-9 frames for all the states, same as walking.

But since walking is such a small movement versus the site of a small sprite, you can 'fake' the walking version - I think running is a lot harder to fake with only 4 frames.
Where a walking animation may consist of the "standing" frames, running cannot without looking funny.

Hm. It's just three frames, really. I'll try it, but it might look kind of funny.
I only know my method.
I'll demonstrate it using Ploud Stripe.

Walking: Consist of 'standing/idle' frames. The 'stepping' frames generally move the charset down 1 pixel, which creates the bobbing motion that makes the walking work.

Running: Here, I've substituted the 'idle' frames with 'recoil' frames. These are frames where the character's body is at their lowest point of the animation, but not stepping forward. Secondly, the 'running/stepping' frames actually move the charset's body 1 pixel up WHILE STEPPING. This creates the 'leap' effect which makes this running cycle work.

Both done with three frames.
Ginseng_Tea's got it, I should look the best capable technique when it comes to running.
I think it should be easy if you just take the walking sprite and remove the standing position as mentioned.

The side view one might be a bit better if you tilt the head a bit forward. Usually most normal people run this way or tilted back since long distance runners run with their legs forward in a slanted back position. Might be a bit complex for rm without it looking funny. Otherwise normal posture should be fine then
