You know what I found funny? I have like 40+ or so PS1 games, and not one of them is from a japanese developer. I mean, it may not be that strange but I find it interesting to miss those "Critically acclaimed" Japanese games for the system. So far, the only non U.S. games I have are from companies Ubisoft and Funcom.

So no Final Fantasy, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid. Nothing from Square, Capcom or Konami? Or even *gasp*Namco?!*gasp*
This is very hard to come up with any kind of list because there are too many, but I will list 10 that I find to be great.

I never touched ANY Final Fantasy game in my life. I was never interested in it. I don't consider Namco Museum to count as it contained games that were not released on the PS1. I Borrowed Megaman 8, X4, X5, X6. But never was interested enough to buy them since to me then screamed "Recycle". I did have Legends 1 and 2, but traded them in for Spyro 2 and Rayman 2 around when they came out at their expected times. I kept hearing Silent Hill was horrible, and I didn't think that blocky characters could be scary after looking at screens.
I considered Metal Gear Solid to be overrated like that Zelda game on the N64, so like the latter, I borrowed it and never finished it. In the meantime, I pretty much forgot those games.
I messed with Atari, EA, Naughty Dogg, Funcom, Ubisoft, Crystal Dynamics, Insomniac, Fox, Activision, I think NICK, Take2, Interplay, Psygnosi, Neversoft, and like 20+ others I can't think of off the top of my head.
