Well that solves those problems. Now to see what the RTP music sounds like.
Before you ask: yes, you can import your own music.
I already knew this. I wanted to see fi I would replace the whole thing or not. MP3s make big file size, and most modern midis sound scratchy.
the way MIDIs sound depends entirely on your soundcard.
Midis don't sound like the MP3 counterparts no matter what sound card you have.
MP3s don't make that big of file size. Would you honestly not download a game because it was 150mb instead of 25mb? I download like, 5-6gb worth of stuff a day.

I did not say that they did.
Or you can just use oggs, which are like mp3s, except good.
oggs are better than Mp3s?
Higher quality and smaller filesize.

More accurately, OGG is a container. The actual audio data is encoded in Ogg Vorbis rather than MP3. Vorbis sports (usually) better compression ratios as opposed to MP3. Both MP3 and Vorbis result in files larger than MIDI files, though.

You might be pleasantly surprised.
You can get a still smaller file size but much more sound range and quality if you use DLS containers with your MIDIs. DLS containers contain all the instrument data as detailed as you want. The only engine I've seen that actually plays them together is FMOD, though.

My midis sound good on VX/XP, actually.
