You can level your equipment up by leaving it in the chest at the warden keep iirc

e:whoops, was thinking of da1

Hawke Estate, this is DA2, and I don't think leaving items behind levels them up. The only item that levels up in the game is Bianca, and you can't unequip it from Varic making him nothing but a puppet NPC.

Poor interfaces. See: Pokemon, early DQ (although it still persists today, to a lesser extent, except in VIII), reportedly Mass Effect 1, Etrian Odyssey 1 (was good-looking but lacked a lot of functionality).

i have never understood why in the modern pokemon games we have withrdaw, deposit AND MOVE WHICH DOES BOTH. why is withdraw/deposit necessary?
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

The entire PC system is extremely clunky, and the pokestorage in particular. But hey people keep buying the exact same game so why would they bother to update it from the version they made in 1996

ding ding ding

I cannot support Pokemon beyond generation two. (No, tardis/Versalia, I don't want to get into this argument again.)

Versalia
must be all that rtp in your diet

We didn't have an argument, I mostly agreed with you but not to the level of vehemence you put behind it, kthx

although that post was a nice way to say "this is the only correct viewpoint, no I am plugging my ears against people who said otherwise so shhhh la la la la can't hear you"

Sure it does! I don't think a clunky interface is pokemon's biggest design flaw. It's just.. big. It HAS changed and updated PCs (go play Blue and Red and tell me that PC system isn't more annoying) but not in any way that brings it up to realistic standards. Their biggest flaw is the refusal to freshen up the trappings of the game at large - any of the games could be any of the other games, with names shuffled around and pokemon re-drawn; your enemy is always a Team of criminals that uses poison/dark type pokemon and is somehow vastly more organized yet totally incompetent compared to the rest of the world, there is Professor Tree, a Jerkass Rival who ambushes you from time to time, etc. Samey same sameness.

(The smaller stuff they changed is a fresh breath of air, but a fresh breath is not enough to run a 5-generation marathon)

by the way generation three made vast improvements over some really, really stupid stuff in 2 (see also: complete Breeding overhaul) and introduced new mechanics like passive abilities, which definitely changed up the mechanics, so thumbs-up for those kinds of changes. Basically, my opinion is that the biggest design flaw in (multi-generational) games is the refusal to update the game's setting and pacing as opposed to having one of their interfaces be suboptimal
The biggest flaw is what I call the "I just digged up my father's sword and..." syndrome. I guess you get it.
The next one in line is "I'll let you be so naive thinking you can make real decissions."

Swearing in rpg games, comes off abit too rude, i don't mind, but lessen it please, I swear but, not right in the rpg world, it's fine with bastard and crap if you want. I know I played whatisname's game called Ascendance on rpgmaker.net, it had the word "faggot" in it. So no thanks. But it was only for the release something contest. Too bad it's cancelled.

I've... never played a game where scarcity of money bothered me. I can't even imagine such a problem theoretically existing.
Just reading this brought up memories of grinding for Gold Mans in Dragon Warrior.
I think one of the biggest flaws a game could have is that they're made to easy. I mean some games are virtually impossible to lose. Unless you consider dying and respawning 5 steps away from where you died, with no penalties.

This is an example of what I mean.

Of course I think the number one flaw a game could have is bad controls and camera that make the game frustrating/unplayable.

can't make a bad game if you don't finish any games
