THE TOP FIVE RPG MAKER GAMES
Posts
author=Jerichothat sounds more like my sort of thing! i'll def check it out. though i guess i should ask: will i miss out on much by not playing the first game?
I got genuinely panicked when I went around a corridor to enter a door I knew had been there before and it was gone. They just hit all the right buttons with that second game.
definitely though cho the games made by frictional went downhill after penumbra: black plague. I would recommend you just play that one and leave the others alone.
ehhh there is some semi-important information contained in the first game, which was actually not that bad now that I remember. more interesting to me than amnesia, anyway. I think, though, that there is a summary at the start of black plague. Still, the interactions between you and the only other human you come in contact with in Overture are pretty neat.
That's a pretty awesome article. Of course mostly it's awesome because RMN gets exposure outside of... well... RMN.
The opening especially hits the nail on the head.

On the great map of PC gaming, the RPG Maker Network lies somewhere south of indie and west of modding. An often-overlooked community with strong ties to the fractious independent nations of fandom, the network is known for its abundant remakes and demakes of classic console JRPGs.
choNicoBthe best way to balance your rpg: give characters terrible hit rate, make the first enemies do 0 damage so rather than being frustrating it's just boring
I feel like if this is supposed to be a list of "best of all time"
Last Scenario should've been up there
1) That was Exit Fate
2) You can upgrade hit rate with money
3) Magic isn't affected by hit rate
You can easily die in the first dungeons of Last Scenario.
