Wow, I can't believe how low some of you guys rank story in relation to an RPG.

Considering the majority of games in the RM community, is this actually surprising?

I can't argue that gameplay is real important when it comes to games, it's the very nature of the medium after all, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm a cutscene whore. RPG plots are almost always campy bad fiction, which isn't always bad. Bad fiction is great so long as you don't get pretentious about it. But games with effective story telling tend to latch onto my heart far quicker than anything else.
