OF THE CONSOLES YOU OWN, WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE?

Of all the consoles you own (name them please), which one is your favorite? And which (next-gen) console should I buy? Which would make me happiest?? (Note: I'm a hardcore gamer who loves game play as much as graphics XD)

I own a PlayStation, PlayStation 2, GameCube and X-Box currently. My favorite is definitely the PlayStation 2, so I'm thinking of getting the next one... but what do ya'll think?

Is it really worth it??
I love my PS3. It's a bit spendy, but if you use all it's extra features I think it's worth it. I put all my CDs and MP3s on it, and I have a hi-def big screen TV so Blu-Ray movies looks absolutely excellent on it. It's hard to say what would make you happiest, but if you're a hardcore gamer you've probably already counted out the Wii. Nintendo makes a lot of great games, but it's 3rd party developed games are sort of like the McDonald's dollar menu of gaming. I don't own an Xbox but I understand there are a lot of exclusive titles that people really like, such as Halo or Bioshock. The PS3 has it's share of good exclusive games in the pipeline as well, however, and one can't forget all the multi-platform releases either. I think this is a good time to be a gamer, and really any of the consoles are a good choice. It just comes down to what you would be happiest with, and like I said I can't tell you what that is. The PS3 and 360 both have excellent graphics, and fun games can be found for any console, so I would suggest you just get all three, ha ha.

Wow that was a terrible post above.

My favorite console I own is my Super Nintendo.
I'm with WIP, Super Nintendo hands down.

Of more recent systems, I am not to sure.
My Xbox 360 is pretty sweet, when it plays the games. Mostly I have been into Bioshock with it.
I like the Wii, been playing Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3, and as soon as I get Brawl, it will probably leap to the top for a while.
My PS2 is good for when I want to play Shadow of the Colossus. Gamecube I have been warming up on Smash bros with Melee.

So I guess I would have to go with the Wii for right now.

I was going to say this. It's closely followed by the PS2, though, and the 360 is doing pretty well for itself on my list so far.
Yeah, the super nintendo was great for it's time and still is.

My favourite console would have to be my playstation 2. The wii isn't far behind it though. Mainly because of Brawl.
I own a NES, GB, GB Pocket, GBC, GBA, NDS lite, N64, GC and Wii.

And a PC.

My PC is by far my favorite gaming platform.

When it comes to actual consoles I'm not really sure. I really like the DS, since it is fairly backwards compatible and so can play what I want it to play. It's also a DS Lite so the picture is sickeningly sharp compared to the regular DS.

Otherwise it would have been the NES. But with Virtual Console Wii is all the other Nintendo consoles put into one. So it's obviously the Wii. (And my NES only works occasionally after a bit of hurting)

But yeah. The PC. Strategy, FPS, what else do you need?

Yeah, the PC has been the most consistently good gaming platform for me for years.

I have an Atari 2600, NES, SNES, N64, Wii and Xbox (original). I've had the most fun playing with the SNES overall, and it still has some of my all-time favorite games, so it's still my favorite.

...Now, if Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy games from the NES/SNES era were to come on to the Wii's VC....

I don't see anything wrong with his post other than pointing out that the Wii is lame which is something I am inclined to agree to.

It would be a pretty bad copout to say the PS2 or PS1 are my favorite because even though it's true it's not really a fair contest nor does it offer solid advice. But yeah anyway I guess the PS1 is my favorite console in the grand scheme of things.

I own all of the current major game formats and my favorite is actually probably PSP or PC (but that's because I have a good gaming PC for the first time in 4 years and have been catching up and it's a blast). As far as recommending a single platform goes I'd probably advise 360 or PS3 and not Wii because I don't think I've even turned my Wii on in 2008. It's really hard to say which between 360 and PS3 will have the bettter lineup in the end; I definitely play 360 a lot more right now but at the same time I usually prefer Japanese games (especially japfag RPGs) and you'll probably notice that there aren't very many of them on 360. You'll probably be happy with either purchase though since most of the major 3rd parties like EA and Capcom publish most games on both formats. But seriously man unless you absolutely must play yet another version of Mario Kart or have a lot of extra dough you shouldn't invest in a Wii.
I sold my Snes and my N64, because I thought GC would be better than them both...now I'm a very sad Panda...

I curently Own:

Gamecube
Wii
Playstation 2
DS GBA and PSP.

PS2 is currently my favourite for reasons I can no longer remember. Get a PS3 if your a hardcore Sony fan... me? I wouldn't touch it.

A good gaming PC is tooooooooooo expensive these days... all those Graphics Card to choose from, I don't even know which one is good, or much less understand it all.

I was thinking about getting an Xbox 360, but rumors are saying that soon they're going Blu-Ray with a 60gb harddrive, so it'd probably jackup the price, and it'd be useless to buy one now if they did.

It's not too bad actually. A good graphics card is about $200 (which is a lot cheaper than a console by the way) and a speedy PC is useful for a lot more than gaming.

This is so left-field that it barely even qualifies as a rumor. Some low-level sales rep made an offhanded comment at a forum or in an interview or something that they were "exploring options" but Microsoft has since very firmly made the statement that there will be no Blu-Ray in 360.

But I guess Sony made the same statement about price drops and I bought a PS3 five days before the price went down $100 so who knows about these things.
It's okay. The newest game I own is C&C 3, which is what? 2 years old now?

Oh yes, i made that same mistake as well. The only good game on that was smash bros.

My favorite console would probably have been the original Playstation, I mean the second has been great for years, but I haven't touched it for months now haha, probably since Final Fantasy XII came out in Feb for me. Reason behind the original is because it just had so many good games to play, and truly brought some great experiences with it, and wasn't that expensive either.

I regret a bit trading my 360 for the Playstation 3 at launch, because it has some great games, and Test Drive Unlimited was an awesome game! Right now I would say the PSP is my favorite, such a great little machine, was playing Final Fantasy IX on it before, and just got Patapon(legally!) and it's great, but kinda hard, already stuck on it haha, I'm now waiting for Crisis Core and God Of War to come out(In New Zealand) so I can build up my PSP collection.
Yes, the psp has some pretty cool games. I was playing final fantasy tactics war of lions at my friends house the other day. Crisis Core should be good as well. I think it is coming out in about a week.

It sounded like a giant ad for Sony products.
NES
SNES
Genesis
Dreamcast
Gamecube (stolen)
PS2
PC

DS(if handhelds count)

torn between PC, SNES and Dreamcast.

Did you not try:

F-Zero GX
Ikaruga
LoZ TP and Windwaker
Mario Golf(best golf game ever)
Paper Mario Thousand Year Door
Metroid Prime
Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II
Pikmin 1+2
Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II
Animal Crossing
Super Monkey Ball 2
Super Mario Sunshine
Mario Kart: Double Dash
Eternal Darkness

All of these are long lasting quality games. I'll agree GC didn't do so well, but if you're going to say GC had no games, I'm sorry, but it's not true.

I got my PC upgraded for 300-400 bucks, it can run crysis on medium. Just got to know someone computer savy to customize your computer.
