FINISHED GAMES 2011
Posts
Didn't exactly finish, but I'm finished WITH Gothic III. Horribly balanced game, and 20 hours was enough for me. Still had fun with it though, at times, and the first 2 are still amongst my favorite games ever.
Just remembered I've finished Tron: Evolution twice, and both this year. The first in January, and the second earlier today, thanks to PSN's outage.
Story Mode seems to be an easy way to gain levels, went from 21 to mid 30's (Can't remember exactly) on this run through.

Yesterday I bought Portal 2.
Today I finished Portal 2 singleplayer.
Now I just have some co-oping to do and obviously I then have to go through the commentary tracks.

Bought and beaten Medal of Honour's singleplayer campaign today, all in one sitting. Normally I can't play FPS games long enough to do so, and I think Black Ops is the only other one I've done so, with CoD 3 coming close.
I kind of wish it had been longer, but then again wher ethey finished it was fine as it is.

Last night I finished Hotel Dusk: Room 215.
Twas good fun, and the puzzles didn't seem stupid or anything. I only got tripped up once because I didn't look in a garbage can.
This is the second of these DS point and clicks I've played, the other being Time Hollow.
Dusk was longer, and more put together, but as for the story portions, and caring for the characters, I liked Time Hollow better.

YEsssssss
I finally finished Xenosaga III. Huge improvement in every way to episode II. The game made the possibly right decision to simply include some of the more complicated plot points into the database you can investigate at your leisure. This way, you wouldn't be bogged down by even more text walls.
Combat was a lot better, but while your ES battles seemed to scale awesomely with the plot, the in-person battles were laborious and overly-hard. (still not as bad as EP II)
Basically, after I beat citrine, the in-person battles became ridiculous, and I broke the game to make it fun again. (gave shion 999 str to get through enough story battles until I could unlock Erde Kaiser Sigma) which thankfully obliterated everything in one hit, even the last boss.
Great game. Will be remembered fondly.

I should mention, though, that by the time you reach the ending, you'll be like "who in the what now?" and then, at the very very end, you see the biggest setup for a sequel ever - a sequel you now know will never come.
still good though.
still good though.
Last game I finished this year was Persona 4, True Ending.
That game was awesome.
I am gonna try to find a way to play Persona 3 FES now, after I run through Persona 2 Innocent Sin / Eternal Punishment.

Finished Mass Effect, amazing game! Gonna do a femshep playthrough now and make her renegade as hell.
I just realized that Persona 3 and FF8 are the only RPGs I have beaten. Every other RPG has me losing interest in the middle for various reasons. Am I an RPG poser?
Most RPGs suck balls and appeal to a niche market that I evidently do not belong to.

In the last month I beat Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 2. I have been playing Mass Effect 2 on and off since last October but kept getting distracted from finishing it (including RRoD). I bought Dragon Age 2 on launch but didn't really get to playing it too much until May. When my wife went on vacation recently I knew it was time to finish them off. My total playtime including all DLC on Mass Effect 2 was 78 hours. I spent about 51 hours in Dragon Age 2 but haven't played Legacy yet. I enjoyed both games very much, despite claims both have been dumbed down.
In between there I also beat TMNT Turtles in Time Reshelled for the 360.

Finally decided to get back to Dragon Age Origins today. I put in the cd, thought about it... and uninstalled. Guess I'm just done WITH it.
Beat Street Fighter 1 Mugen remake a few times, pretty cool, especially compared to the original version.

Oh yes, I also beat Gears of War 2 finally during that same time period. It was a crazy ride.
