PICTURES TO TILES

Is there any efficient method of turning pictures into tiles for RMVX?
Possibly a software or something?

Any reason not to use panoramas?
Care to show me the picture (or a sample picture) so we can know exactly what you're talking about?

@Calunio: Panorama, hmm? Wouldn't the panorama scroll when the map pans? ... unless there's a way to disable the scroll... if so, do you know how 'cause that would be useful. :O

the panorama won't scroll if the panorama image is the same size as the map.

I already have the majority of the map done.
I just would like to have a small picture of...furniture, for instance. Scale to a VX sprite size.
I want to take this image and then tile it out.
I have considered Panoramas, but I would also like to make event graphics.

I've considered Panoramas, but I've decided against it.
Well... there's no "trick" or "program" to turn pictures into tiles or chars. You just need decent image editors and do the resizing, adjusting, etc. You need minimum spriting/editing knowledge to do it.

I have Gimp. I was just wondering if there was an easier way to do it.

Nope. Depending on the quality, use iDraw or Paint.net and then you just have to copy and paste into a tileset (match things up to a template / guess-n-check).
Wolfcoder please begin work on a program that magically transforms a given image into a tileset as soon as you're done with RM20XX

PM it to him.
You could set up an event where you want it on the map then use the show picture command, set to the events x and y position. Um, or sprite it and add it to either a tileset or character set. ^.^;

I'm sorry, but I have no idea what you're saying.
(You see RMN, I am a dummie.)
