LET'S DISCUSS SUPER POWERS!

bunch of retarded bullshit

no one DIES from giving their energy to the spirit bomb asshole. know your facts before you run your mouth
the spirit bomb can only be used by the pure of heart. Goku is pure of heart. Goku would never kill an innocent. Not only this, but it is canon that you have to be willing to give up energy for spirit bomb to work. seriously wtf is this horseshit TAIYOKEN
don't expect to bash Goku like that and get away with it.

when did it take hours and hours for any of the spirit bombs to form?? in every situation where someone had to defend goku while he charged the spirit bomb, none of them would have survived for hours.

where do you come up with this stuff xD

unless..

Super Hero: LockeZ
Super Power: Amazing capacity of his ass allows him to store unparalleled amounts of bullshit information that can be rained down on unsuspecting participants of a fictional discussion. Due to prolonged exposure to this type of information he actually believes what he is saying is truth.

So what should I call that... Sacreficing Energy Blast or... Do all the moves in DBZ have spellcharges? I noticed a lot of constipated fighters scenes.
I (vaguely) remember three episodes spent in gokuh charging a Kamehameha.
Seriously.
Thee episodes. And I HATE DBZ fighting sequences. That's why I HATE DBS, I just like the original and GT.

EDIT: I meant DBZ, not Deafult Battle System. xD /\

This is not true.

It's rare to see people not shit on DBZ as soon as it's mentioned xD

It's not really sacrificing, it's more like a collaborative effort to generate power. And it's not a super power, it's a technique. All the big attacks in DBZ are just techniques, I'd say the super power is controlling Ki. It's how they do everything(move fast, defend, shoot energy, fly...)

*I thought about it and have nothing useful to contribute u.u I was never into "super heroes"

Considering how old DBZ is, it was pretty awesome. I'm including Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball to a lesser extent. (although GT is great too, but it is slightly newer in comparison to the first two)
IMO, it paved the way for generally a lot of different animes, games, etc.

Also, the DBZ fighting scenes is what made it for me. ._.
Everything else was just fluff in between(for the most part, I'm all for storybuilding, but when Master Roshi is chasing Oolong with a porno or w/e, I could care less.)

And Lockez, you are retarded.
Seriously, you couldn't be more wrong about what you said.
It should probably go without saying that sacrificing all life on the planet or all life in the universe in order to win a battle is generally not the best way to go

Because letting Majin Buu destroy everything instead is better?
Oh okay.
Why doesn't anyone mention some sort of mystic power? Such as using tarot cards to cast spells... A Lá Cardcaptor Sakura. (I really hate western heroes.)

BTW so maybe I got a wrong memory, but still... Certainly, there were some 3 episode FIGHTS, at least.

Oh, I assure you there are episode long fights, you aren't mistaken. :P
But I think that is epic and badass, but that's just me.
I liked the power levels, the energy charging, the trash talk, etc etc. nothing in DBZ ever really bothered me.
It was such a cool anime to me back then, and still is.
But with todays technology and graphics there is just better out there.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I apologize for not getting spirit bomb right, I just remembered it being retarded and taking forever, and pulled the rest of the info off the dbz wiki. Whatever. If it did actually work the way I thought it did, it would be a really awful attack. The fact remains that it takes triple forever to charge up, and then usually doesn't work.

The moral is that DBZ has a lot of really stupid attacks. I think Buu's attack where he turns people into candy and then eats them is just about the worst it ever gets. I'm not sure that's really a useless power, at least in the way that this topic means, since he murders boatloads of people with it. It's just extremely silly.

Ok, you got Ki control out of this I Hate Super Heroes dicussion in the Let's Discuss Super Powers topic. If you're going to start mentioning anime, lets get into cardcaptor/yugioh/whateverthehell and one piece and stuff like that! One could argue that Pokemon have super powers!

I was suddenly reminded of this comic:

Having a signature is too mainstream. I'm not part of your system!

Turning things into candy is like the ultimate power. You kill everything in one hit and you get a delicious snack afterwards. It makes about as much sense as any other power.

As long as you don't have to eat them, then you'd die from sugar intake. lol

Read: stfu about anime

Rouge from X-men
Rogue possesses the mutant ability to absorb the psyche and abilities of another human being (or members of some sentient alien races) through skin contact. Rogue can absorb the memories, knowledge, talents, personality, and physical abilities (whether superhuman or not) of the person she touches, as well as occasionally duplicating in herself physical characteristics of her victim.

Rogue's power is a HUGE example of Blessed With Suck. It seems awesome on the surface but is so fraught with drawbacks that it's pretty shitty in the end, IMO.
Specific to Rouge, if its untrained and out of control, yeah it would probably suck. They specifically made it skin contact(on a girl no less). Doesn't mean that someone else with a similar power wouldn't be able to control when it happens.

I think a really GREAT super power is the ability to control the elements.
Whether it be all of them or a single one, it's just useful and badass.

I'd consider this one of the best super powers because of the versatility of it.
From attack to defense, or saving/taking thousands of lives from hurricanes and other natural disasters.

Good examples is X-Men (for simplicity) people like Storm and Pyro.
I'm sure there are TONS of comic book heroes/villains that have the ability to control the elements.
