Not sure what you mean by remaster, but as far as I know it's just a port with a graphics update and a few aesthetics. It also includes master quest, so you kinda get 2 games in one.
From what I hear they're including lots of stuff that wan't in the original

edit: read this

This article says nothing. It's some dude saying that there will be tons of stuff in it that wasn't in the original followed by a quote telling us how Zelda is made.
@Clyve: guess I should've linked to the Iwata asks interview then :P
the link's on that page

Wow, a lot of 3DS hate.In Japanland, I'll picking one up for Layton when I have the 30,000 yen lying around. Also thinking of waiting in case a newer version comes out with a longer battery life.

Complaining about OoT seems dumb because you know there's about a millions of people who're happy as all hell that they're putting it on the 3DS. Seems like a smart move. I won't buy it as well.

I don't hate the 3d, I loathe it.

Nah, not really. I just think when compared to the NGP, it doesn't offer as much. Yes the NGP is over 100 dollars more, but there is good reason for it. I will not go into details though,I don't want to jack the thread.

those are the same people who buy every new incarnation of Final Fantasy 1

i guess i just don't understand the mindset of "games would be a lot better if they made me feel sick while i played them"

I havn't completed OOT yet, and ive only ever played on an emulator (well appart from 10 mins at a friends). So ill want to buy it on the 3DS, i also want the new KH game and Street Fighter IV looks good aswell. Star fox 64 doesnt look bad either.

author=Felix20
They are region locked so i'm not sure if the games in your region will work on a US model

Yeah, ill import the games aswell, there $20-$30 cheaper too.

I dont like the look of the NGP, but ive never really liked anything that ist Sony. Cause i find the games mostly boring, with pretty graphix.

I don't see how it's much different aside from having just one screen and prettier graphics. They both have touch pads, motion sensors, analog sticks, chrome shells. One just has a HDD where you download games, the other has games you buy in a store with a box and two screens.

And i prefer buying games from a store, and having a hard copy, rather than downloading them.
I grabbed a 3DS and Ghost Recon. The 3d is cooler than I expected.

Oh, you mean No Games Portable? Yeah, I see how much they offer.

Anyways, I'll be getting my 3DS when it goes down in price, hopefully before Layton comes out.
I really don't care about the 3D gimmick. Seriously.

The only reason I want one is there was, like, 10 games I wanted for it after I watched it's debut at last year's E3. I looked up a list of games coming out for it and I was overwhelmed by the amount of games I actually wanted. The new Paper Mario, SSF4 3D, and the new Kid Icarus game being the most prominent choices.

Unfortunately, I don't have the budget to drop over $200 for one right now. I'm going to have to wait. And even if I did have the money for one, I've been considering just waiting to get it because I've been told by numerous sources that the battery life for the 3DS is shit. (like 3 hours)

I was pretty apathetic towards the 3DS...until I found out about this

I heard the battery life is like 2-3hours with the 3D effect on, but without it, it lasts much longer. Still, this IS the 3DS, surely they will release a new model next year or something.

Dont know weather i shouold wait for a new model... Well, by the time i have $300+ theres going to be a new model... (only $210+ to go!)
The battery life with full sound, wireless and 3D is at least 3 hours, from what I've tested from playing it under those conditions. Otherwise with sound down and 3D off it lasts for longer, around 5 or so hours. I tend to play with 3D but no sound though, as I'm usually in a lecture or travelling, so mine lasts in between those and only time I've drained it completely was the day I got it, rest of the time it lasts long enough for me to get it onto the cradle in time.

Also, apparently there are no plans from Nintendo for a 3DS lite.

There not going to say: Hey guys, in 12 months theres going to be a better version of that thing you just spent $300 on. Suckarz.

Okay, maybe not no plans at all, but no short-term ones. The only thing they'd really have to add was a longer battery life, and maybe a couple of tweaks to the software here and there, but other than that there isn't much they need to do.

They could make it smaller, but personally I haven't had any problems with it's size, it's fit snug as a bug in my pockets while I've gone round town.

I dont want it smaller. The GB micro was annoying cause of the size, and 3ds looks pretty damn well sized. Plus, smaller doesnt exactly add a lot of battery life.

Yeah, I agree. Nintendo doesn't really hold any credibility for me here.

I recommend reading this interesting article by Jeremy Parish on the 3DS. It's interesting because it points out two potential problems with the overall 3DS strategy:

- It doesn't use "withered technology" (think Game Boy strategy), it costs a lot of money relative to past Nintendo offerings, and it is probably the most high-tech system Nintendo has developed.
- It is awkwardly positioned between the hardcore gamer's NGP and the super-casual iPhone/iPod touch (IMO, Nintendo fails to truly recognize the latter as a real competitor).

I think it's impossible for the 3DS to be anything like the Virtual Boy, but it seems like the best parts of Nintendo's strategy for the 3DS are generic things they could've done with the DSi: lock up LOTS of great releases and do a better job with 3rd-party software developers. It's almost like Nintendo needed a new console because... um... it's the *right time* to introduce the next portable system?

EDIT: Although after posting I realize that Nintendo is showing games with better graphics and such, and I know the 3DS isn't just a DSi with pop-out effects. They're still failing to address Apple's threat to their dominance over casual gamers, though. Anyways, I like talking plenty about the logic behind the thing, but the bottom-line is that I'll likely buy one someday when I'm worried about the scarcity of some great 3DS release that will be hard to find later on.
I actually like the 3DS. The 3D isn't what sold me; it's the many games that I like that are coming out. I see myself as more of a casual gamer who is up for anything, so while I tend to buy Nintendo stuff more, I usually play games on all systems. I just don't prefer NGP to the 3DS.

At the current price of the 3DS and the PSP where i am, i could buy a PSP and 4-5 games for the same price of just a 3DS. I wont though, i dont like the PSP...
