Yeah, I'm pretty sure you do.
I didn't see until after I posted that the n with square brackets wasn't showing up.
It's supposed to go in the script? I thought I could put it in the text message box, but when I do it actually shows the \a squarebrackets and number.
Argh, I'll be honest, I really hate the new rpg maker programs, XP and VX.
because it seems just about everything needs a script to function properly or at all.
So, yeah, it probably does go into a script. (not a 100% sure though)

Yuck, well I'll just have to leave it like it is. What I have is one of the NPCs you come across many times in the game at the battlefield with you and some of the defending village's army. The first wave comes through and he yells charge!! and they all start moving towards each other, but when most of my friends play it, the charge comes up and they forget to hit enter... so all the NPCs are just standing up against each other waiting for him to hit enter so the battle can start XD
Instead of using a text command, perhaps you can use a picture that says Charge!, which after whatever amount of times goes away and the battle commences?
Cause' I get what ya mean, sometimes having to hit enter makes it lame.

Hmm, a picture? I'm not sure how I could go about doing that.
Look into some XP tutorials involving/showing pictures. I think it will help greatly.
Just use google and you should be fine on finding them.
I'd like to help you further but my knowledge is very limited.
Goodluck! :D

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

You may be interested in CCoa's Universal Message System, an RPG Maker XP script that adds a lot of extra commands to the system. The script is extremely easy to use, as scripts go. It has some customization you can mess with if you want to, but you don't have to do anything except drop it in place for it to work.
Most of the special message options that Infection listed are part of a custom message system like this. Though I think they're actually part of someone else's system, not CCoa's system. I tried a few and liked CCoa's.
The only backslash commands you can use in RMXP without adding a script are \V[#] to show a variable, \N[#] to show a character's name, \C[#] to change the text color, \G to show the mini-window that displays the player's money, and \\ to display a backslash.
