I am sure there was a thread like this already, but the site doesn't like searching so I have made a new one!

Essentially, post whats in your world!

My wife and I started a new world using the Glacier seed on a private server, and built this tonight. A glass greenhouse with a tree farm/hydroponic farm, a silo for storage, a cute little house with beds and a garden, an incinerator for Gravel (pfft!) and an awesome strip mine.

We cheated the Glowstone blocks in since you can't go to the Nether in vanilla SMP :(

I also built this as a demonstration to someone on how to build neat minecart systems, turned it into a full subway system with color-coded lines and such.
why not play with some real dwarves
Because Dwarf Fortress doesn't let you be anywhere near as creative, or allow you to benefit from a sense of perspective by being able to move within your own creations.

My wolves. I had seven but I accidentally washed him away and he died. :(
This shot is from the inside of the bottom of my floating island.

Atop of my floating island. I haven't managed to get grass up there yet, but I'm working on it.
Nice, same texture pack :D

I have never found a wolf at the same time as having a bone to tame it with. Kind of a useless feature in my opinion :<

The wolves or the needing bones to tame them? I like the wolves, although it would be cool if they had a little more utility than killing stuff.
yeah what is that texture pack ariedonus

I''d show my old miecraft world but it's on my old computer and wasn't that impressive anyway.
It's called DokuCraft. It comes with three variations, and it's pretty purdy. I used to use Albion HD but I think it's currently outdated. :(
Minecraft is fun, as long as you have an idea what to build:

That was my creation on one of my old worlds, since then I created a bigger perfect sphere, that had epic windows and hallways to other buildings, but I accidentally deleted that world :/ I dont play Minecraft anymore, but I sometimes get a neat idea what to build, waste some time, and go play something else again. Used to play it a lot more, great game, worth the money :D (and I got the alpha client, which cost only fraction of the current price, yay). The game looked so different back then :D
There is a mod that instead of creating an earth-like world, it creates glass spheres with individual biomes inside, that are loosely connected with bridges but there are some small orbs where you would find rare minerals that need a bridge made to them. It's a pretty cool mod.
I've spent the better part of a month or so coding a map generator for Minecraft (meant mostly for server usage).

Randomly generated incursions from the nether!

Larger randomly generated ruin that had the top of it removed by someone.
I used to have this awesome floating island I was building that had a waterfall in the center that you could climb up. I ended up getting rid of that world because I was messing around with some lava on the island and I created a huge lava waterfall which somehow made it into my underground dungeon and destroyed my stuff/made it dangerous to try to get in

ARMOK LAUGHS AT YOUR PITIFUL DISPLAYS OF DWARFINESS

Dwarf Fortress

When asked what inspired him to make minecraft in an interview, "Notch" openly admitted/replied that he wanted to make something like dwarf fortress.
well, i'm glad he's at least not pretending otherwise
Also, more continentish generation! 3D Fractal Brownian Motion works pretty well for doing so, I think. This world is 10,000 by 10,000 blocks.
