CATS :D

My cat is pretty long.

Longcat doesn't seem as long as the last time that I saw it. Am I becoming immune to the internet? O_O

Oh. I don't own pets. I'd likely forget about them until the corpse stench got too strong and I remembered that pets like food and stuff like that.

I used to have a grey cat named Ashe (yes as a reference to the game I hate, FF12). Ironically, he was a dude cat.

Then, someone stole him...

I don't care how awesome or loving your cats are/were, I swear none were more of a lover or a fighter than my ol' bro, Charlie, who passed away roughly two weeks ago at the age of 16. Ever since I first laid eyes on him as a kitten in the pound, I must have known he would be the one to teach us so much and make our family complete. Even my father, who up until getting to know Charlie, was a dog person. This changed his mind.

Whenever I was scared or sick, he was there to comfort me. I'd come up to him and we did our traditional face rubs where we'd go back and forth on each side then double up on the fifth. Sure, there wasn't a mean bone in his body, but that didn't stop him from chasing two of the neighborhood cats out of our yard, their yard and into the gutter, even as a kitten just recently fixed.

Despite what image of the two that last picture gave, they were madly in love with each other. These next two pictures give a brief look into how much Charlie loved his girl, napping with his arm over her, holding her close. Honda, who is currently around 6 years old, gave him quite a lifestyle these past few years.


It was painful to look at him in his final weeks as he became thinner and thinner. He began to live only on water and would slowly walk around a little before lying down to sleep. Once, I saw him using the wall as a support to keep him standing, which only made me want to cry. I didn't want to see him this way, almost as if he wasn't the same cat in his youth; the fighter that he once was. I told him not to let death take him without a fight, and I believe he did all he could until his final moments. Even as his mind went, talking to him, telling him you love him while petting him, he would purr contently. He knew that he was loved. My father prayed that he would not suffer, which made his passing calmly in his sleep easier to bear.

He was truly an angel on earth. Rest well, Charlie, and remember that you proved to the world what made you the "king of the pussycats".
