ok, so i dont know if anyone else uses emulators, but i have a Gameboy emulator on my computer and i was wondering if anyone knew if theres a way to like link up to different emulators at the same time?
Yeah, i used to use this emulator all the time and i think the only way to link up the emulators is to download this extension pack but i am not sure what it is called.

Wrong forum, dude. Videogames?

Also, I know I looked at some GBA emulators a while back that could link together. It was never very reliable.

Nobody ever uses emulators. You are a terrible person.

VBAlink does a great job of running multiple instances of the same game.

Shining soul on the game boy. This was really the only game i used it for. If there was ever a difficult impossible game this was it.
I changed the topic title because it kept confusing me.
Here is a reason why using save states is cheating.

Get ZSNES, and super mario rpg. Now, get far enough in the game that you get the timed jump move (as long as you time it right, you will jump on the enemy again). Simply save before doing it, now, on a different save state, jump up, wjhen you hit him and go off screen, save. Simply keep doing this, and how could you lose. If you ever accidently save after bouncing off, load the save state before the jump again. pretty easy.

Curiously you cannot do this in Fire Emblem. In Fire Emblem games, if you load a save state, the events will be exactly the same. They must be generated by a seed or something. Anyway, it's pretty fascinating. You can save states at the beginning of a turn and load and try a new strategy if it doesn't work out, but that probably isn't cheating -- in the newest Fire Emblem for Wii, this is actually a feature put into the game.

Yeah it really depends on the game. Depending on how the game is coded and save stated, the calculations can be vastly different.

In Vegas Stakes for the SNES, playing with ZSNES, you could rack up huge amounts of money on Roulette, because the outcome of the spin was determined before the betting takes place.

So enter Roulette, save state, spin, find out the number, then load state and the bet the farm on that number.

Completely kills the point of the game, though.
Yeah, in a few of the yugioh games that i've played on the VBA (that's right, i love em. 8)) you could just save the game at the start of your turn and if you don't get anything good just restart again and again till you got the cards you wanted.

I can't believe that you actually played Vegas Stakes on an emulator enough to discover this.
Vegas Stakes is awesome. I almost bought in on the VC. And Saving States is like second nature to me.
