GAMES YOU'VE BEEN NEGLECTING... (THE PILE OF SHAME)
Posts
In this topic, we list the games that we've stopped playing, not necessarily because they're terrible, but because we've just had issues fitting them into our schedules.
These are games that we would really like to get back into, but are inexplicably having problems picking them back up.
Here's my little pile of shame:
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Suikoden IV
Dragon Quest VIII
Final Fantasy XII
Riviera
Pokemon Diamond
Odin Sphere
I'd also like to pick up Suikoden V before it's too late... and I should probably get Grim Grimoire, too.
*sigh*

Final Fantasy XII,
Oblivion (I want a perfect gamerscore, and the expansion...),
...theres probably alot more worth finishing, but I've put them off for so long I can't remember.

Shadows of the Collosus :'(
Haha, me too. I got halfway through and stopped... I lost interest when I had to keep checking FAQs for a strategy for every colossus I found :P.
Apart from that... Oblivion. But I had to stop playing the game because I'm at the Castle Skingrad and the game crashes every time the Count enters the main room. A huge bummer, because I spent hours beating the Arena, Thieves Guild, and Dark Brotherhood quests prior to trying the main quest :(.

I don't think you need to talk to the Count of Skingrad to finish the game. If you're at the part I'm thinking of, it just helps out a little, but it's not necessary.
So get back to Oblivion! Maybe.
La Pucelle, Riviera, Pokemon Pearl, Grandia III, Final Fantasy XII, .hack//Mutation, Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana, Wild Arms: Alter Code F, Dark Cloud, The Legend of Dragoon, Tales of Legendia, Final Fantasy III, Xenogears, Star Ocean: The Second Story, Xenosaga Ep. 1 (in terms of commercial games), KC(A), Three the Hard Way, Ara Fell: The Legend of Diretsu Hollow... And I think that's it. Of course, I still have a bajillion games to play and review. <.<

Yeah... I'm just getting allies for the Oblivion gate near Bruma. The only problem is that, even if, after loading my game, I sprint out of the room and QT out of Skingrad, the game still crashes... I'm pretty sure it's the Count causing it because the game crashed before when I did the quest for making an antidote to vampirism, but I have no clue how to really fix it.

Oh... in that case, you might want to try and reinstall Oblivion.
I'm currently (slowly) playing Odin Sphere.
The ol' backlog, in order of games I own and plan to play, is currently:
Grim Grimoire
Atelier Iris 3
Minish Cap*
Skies of Arcadia*
Hotel Dusk
Baten Kaitos 1
Baten Kaitos 2
Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2*
FF12*
Wild Arms 4*
Yggdra Union
Valkyrie Profile 2*
Golden Sun
Golden Sun 2
Backlog subject to change as I acquire even more games. This list does not cover Rm* games. Every now and then I can plow through a game pretty quick, so the list is very capable of being thinned out. (I beat DQ8 in 2 weeks and Rogue Galaxy in 9 days, as examples ...)
* - games I've seriously started

FFIV and FFV. I've got into them both seriously but did not finish. I really ought to fire up my emulator/buy a DS and play through them. I've always intented to play through FF1 but haven't gone beyond making a party, really. :\
The other game I've been neglecting is Hero's Realm

Karsuman has been neglecting Jade Empire for far too long. He was once to be my apprentice, however Gredlen has now taken his place by my side.
hmm, let's see...
all final fantasies besides MQ: a while back I was rather into zsnes and played a good portion into the snes FFs. I somehow lost steam on all of them. I got furthest in FF6, got to the final dungeon but by that time, I had read pretty much the rest of the script having read through every nook and cranny of various fansites. Plus I was discovering that interest was finally petering out for it. I didn't really feel motivated to carry on. Similar happened to the others but at an earlier point and because I put them down and forgot where I got to. I haven't got to the rest of them yet.
Tales of Phantasia GBA: well I've completed the snes version so I know how the story goes, but on the GBA I don't have the advantage of save states, pausing etc, plus the bonus content has too few save points.
Titan Quest: awesome game but one character got stuck at a stupidly hard boss, leading me to start a new one who was much better but got tedious to play the game through entirely
also a bunch of games that don't work properly on Vista (I tried playing Thief II and Freedom Force but they didn't really work properly, the latter for some reason didn't work properly on my old PC I had I think 3 years ago which was why I put it down in the first place)
Megaman Battle Network 3: got to bass, found out I can't kill him, got bored the end.
megaman & Bass: rediculously hard. Just about managed to beat the ice robot with both characters, burner man is impossible. One problem with the megaman games is their negative difficulty curve; the first boss is rediculously hard, but once you beat it and start getting powerups, everything gets easier. Sensible in a way but somewhat annoying.
Pokemon yellow: the very first gameboy game I got, I loved it and managed to get pikachu to level 63 (so proud I was :)) then I lost the game. I recently found it again, hadn't a clue where I was, sighed deeply and started a new game (stupid single save slot) then couldn't be bothered.
It's annoying that there's a lack of "pick-up-and-play" types of games, that is ones that really grip me, but aren't too hard to put down and pick back up again. Currently Death Worm is my kind of game, though I'm not sure how long that can maintain my attention for. Any reccomendations?

author=rcholbert link=topic=89.msg1513#msg1513 date=1183613009I bought that almost as soon as it came out because it was a Bioware RPG but it was so damned boring most of the time. Mostly the combat, everything else was pretty cool. Very short, but oh well I guess. I don't think I would have trudged through an RPG with that boring a combat system much further, though.

Supposedly the PC version is better with an "improved" combat system. Who knows!
Final Fantasy VII (Though I'm just replaying it)
Xenosaga
Bouncers
Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga (Again, replaying it)
I don't know how Xenosaga and the Bouncers are like, so I'll see if I can finish them or not.

I've decided I will ban you from both RMN and #rm2k if you do not complete Jade Empire by August 1st, 2007 @ 8:00am Central.
I rented Jade Empire once. It was okay. I didn't like actually having to control my avatar in battle. I'm more of the passive type. I really enjoyed KOTOR's battle system.
The active battles in Mass Effect also makes me a little apprehensive about the game.

Mostly just Zelda: Twilight Princess. I have other games that I haven't finished or given enough attention, but I don't think I am interested in going back to them.
The thing with Zelda: TP is that I simply don't really like the game! Everyone else seems to love it, though, so I keep trying it and seeing if it will catch on. I think the animation is really bad (such as how Link runs, which is the one animation you spend most of the game staring at), the enemies are simply not much fun to fight, and the controls are unresponsive.
I might beat it someday, because I play it for about half an hour every week or two. I feel responsible to play through it someday; like this is an important game that I need to beat. But man, I just don't like it!
Also, I agree that Jade Empire is not that great of a game. I wasn't nearly as interested as I was when playing other Bioware games. Maybe it's because everything about the game is like the most ridiculous stereotype of Asian martial arts films ever?
