NO-STAR REVIEWS: I DID, AND YOU CAN TOO!

Posts

Out of interest... What's with the no rating policy?
I don't really enjoy assigning arbitrary numbers at the end of text. I find that many people have a difficult time just matching up their numbers with the text they are assigned to. I'd probably have a difficult time as well, because from most of the reviews I've read, text and rating almost never match. It's why I've decided to forgo that and just list pros and cons instead.
I understand and respect your position even if I disagree with the practice of withholding precious stars.

(Wow, how often does that happen on an internet forum?)

I could be utterly wrong, but first accepted review for this mini-event?
Finished Relic review as well (it's pending). There isn't any more star to the game though...

NewBlack's got you beat:

Well, I've submitted my three reviews, but they're all on the shorter side because two of the games are under 10 minutes and on one of them, I'm pretty sure I put at least twice as long as the review as the creator did on the games... I'm afraid someone's going to just reject them. Oh well. I wonder how many games on that list really are unreviewable?
I enjoy being contrary.

Well, yes he managed to come into this thread to mention his entry first, but it appears to me that my review was accepted before NewBlack's. That was the type of "first accepted" I was referring to.

Curse the semantics issues!

Ha, you're right, I wasn't looking at the non-star reviews. Anyway, my three reviews are now available. Next I'll take on something not quite as short...
Suicide Club 3
Borefest 2
FFXIII-2k3
I had thought about how so many games had no stars because they are pretty much unreviewable in a conventional way (4 hour contests). Still, I appreciate you chose to give Awz your feedback. Look forward to reading it.

Actually I couldn't get Awz to run. It kept complaining about file not found issues. When I added dummy files the problem persisted. I figured it was an RTP issue. Are there multiple 2K3 RTPs or something?
I have not heard about that problem; the rtp seemed to work for everyone else. The only other files in the game are sound files and a piece of pizza. What is it asking for?
Redownloaded and it works now for some reason.

EDIT: ...and what the hell did I just play (watch)?

Games that deserve reviews : War of two Worlds, Team Olympus, which i both played quite a while ago
They're good games, problem : looong!
(There are at least a few that are undownlodable in the complete games),well was looking for one to review, still
looking; though not being a maker (except for a short rtp intro where dialogues are 3/4 of the game!) doesn't ecxactly make of me the best reviewer!(but i can always try, with a short simple one!)

PSY Hahaha, my 4 hour was a troll game. Just hope it was crazy enough to be entertained.

I'm now focusing on this game. Why? I dunno. I sorted by "most downloads" then looked for the first one that didn't have a review yet. Well, not the very first one I came across, as I think two people are already reviewing that one.
I knew Fallen-Griever before it was cool to know him, I'm so underground.

Also, Super Mario RPG: The Seven Sages got an amazing review back in May, but I denied it (because it was TOO awesome).

I think I'm beginning to see what you mean by "too awesome", kentona. I've barely begun Chapter 3 out 16 (if I'm understanding the Panorama directory well enough) and I have to roll a will check just to open the executable.

I'm going to try for Chapter 4 at the very least, but this review will not end well, sadly.

Alright, I'm getting my hitlist for this weekend down:
Borefest 2: The Boringest - If I'm not bored, I'm walking away unhappy.
Return to Awz - Short VN in 2k3. Sounds like my thing.
Suicide Club 3 - 4-hour VN. Sure.

They're all pretty short, so I should me able to make dent in the forces of No Star Land.

My game deserved no stars, you know.
