Humanity's Requiem

Abandon hope for families betray
life stops while death floods emotions destruct
lightning strikes disease ridden orphans burn
guns blaze destroying lives of countless men
chains bind the soul politics deceive all
the grave call none can ignore fates summons
promises shatter as lightning destroys
the heart toils in unending slavery-
in the end, deception is eternal

Glad to see this was written in 2010, hope things look a little brighter in 2011!
Just a word of advice, since your poem is a series of sentences or group of words that make sense together why not put comas ? It would be more readable and aesthetically better, as:

Thanks I must have forgotten the commas when I posted this here and things aren't going as badly as when I wrote this poem
