Adon, if your cat looks like that, I think you need to get it to a vet. Now.
Or possibly a woodchipper.
Howdy-ho! Post lots, have fun! ^^

Can't tell you how to work with scripts, but some one will come along..
In the meanwhile : welcome and enjoy!

If you're new to game-making, I would highly suggest just playing around with how the base engine you're using works before messing with the complexities of scripts. Though, saying you want to learn about scripts limits the field to RPGM-XP or RPGM-VX. Not saying which engine you're using limits how much one can assist!

I wonder if there is a beginners scripting tutorial? if not, someone should write one.

Hey!
Sorry i couldn't reply earlier (and forgive me for possible grammar errors, since i'm portuguese so....correct english is not my "strong point!" eheheh)
I already read the rpg maker VX tutorial (making maps, how to work out with scripts) but.......Holy crap!! I didn't think that "construct" a rpg maker game would be this difficult...seeing things like:
$game_actors.level = $game_actors.level....say what? lool!
So...i will dwell a bit more and if someone could help with 1st steps i would thank you =)
PS: Its not a cat! XD Its a Prairie dog eheheheheh, but "star wars" version =p

That notation looks oddly familiar! Now that you mention it, I should probably update that, considering what I now know of how VX works...
Ahhhhh LOL!
It's you ehehheh! Sorry i didn't mean you haven't explained well
Its just that i can't understand =P!

Welcome to RMN, make sure to posts a lot, and to keep everyone tightly updated on what you're doing.
Enjoy it here.(:
Enjoy it here.(:
Thanks Zakkukun!!
Since i got out of work now, i will try to follow some tutorials and do some maps =)
I will try to show you my story some time later, but i can tell you one thing...i'm trying to writing something that don't follow the typical rpg formula...
Something without the typical "Villan destroy home, hero rises, gets some side-kicks and learns some FTW skill and kick some butt in the end"!
Something that i know that the player won't try to press "enter" just to pass the story.
I think i'm not the 1st to tell you something like this but...i think i can do it =D!

That's good. Don't over do it, though and ruin the idea. Keep it manageable and easy to follow.
Yeah =)
I don't think that until the end of this month, i can show my story, so...i will try to polish till then ^^
Thanks!

See, the problem with typing in something like...
$game_actors[5].level = $game_actors[1].level
...is that an error will occur when it attempts to read that line! That I didn't fact-check this earlier is a remission on my part, and a disservice to the readers of that article. I have since fixed the article to reflect code that actually works, thanks to your reminder.
You're already contributing and you didn't even realize it!
