SUBMITTING A GAME(HELP)
Posts
When you want to submit a game and that box pops up for you to enter your stuff, I was wondering it asks for three screenshots do you just put the screenshots in the description by doing the code
and if not how do you do it.

After submitting your game (with a detailed description), go to your game's page (Account > Games in the upper right). Select your game. Go to the Screenshots tab. Click Add Screenshot at the botton. Select a screenshot from your PC. Give it a name. Repeat 2 more times.
Thats the problem I just typed up a description and submitted the game it doesn't show up in a games tab when I click on games it say "You have no games'
it probably hasn't been aproved yet. Go to account up the top and click on submissions. You might find your game there either saying "pending" or "approved".
We don't accept games without some sort of media to go along with them.
Go to your submissions and click the game link there. Then follow my instructions for adding screens.
Until it is accepted, you will see:
This content has not yet been accepted. Until acceptance, public viewing is disallowed.

'tis not there.
There is a confirmation message displayed after something is successfully submitted. Something like. "Your stuff has been submitted. It will not be made public until a moderator has approved the content." or something along those lines.
What browser are you using?

I found your problem. Use a good browser like Firefox, or Opera.
Well websites should be designed for the most common browser, which is IE. Telling someone their technical issues are caused by using the most popular browser is pretty elitist and not very helpful. It also does not address a problem that many other people might have.
Maybe someone should tell WIP to look at this?

author=brandonabley link=topic=900.msg11998#msg11998 date=1208191020WIP loves Firefox and hates IE. I don't do any of the site coding, so I have no control over the compatibility between browsers. I agree with this in general, but have to say that this is a small, private, free site and optimization for multiple browsers is a nice-to-have, not a necessity.author=kentona link=topic=900.msg11996#msg11996 date=1208189263

We really only have the resources to make the site truly work in one browser, and that browser is Firefox.
Besides, TONS of professional and corporate sites support ONLY IE. (Fuck you Futureshop!) I hate that. But if they can choose to support only one browser, so can we.
I haven't used IE 7.0 yet. Our work even has prohibited us from upgrading to 7 (from 6) because of compatibility issues. Which is okay because we all use FF anyway.

I do not mind, it only took 5 MB out of my memory only a very small price to pay. Firefox does seem to work better it also has all the functions of IE 7.0 so it is no problem. I have also seen downloads that don't support FireFox that is most strange

I agree that FF is a better browser by the way and I'm not blaming you for anything. And I do think its ridiculous that a big site won't support the second most popular browser (firefox). Since WIP makes this site out of the goodness of his heart it's hard to criticize him, but I really do think IE should be a priority and Firefox shouldn't be as important.
That said, I am pretty sure the it's a lot easier to make a site like this work in Firefox as compared to IE whose issues tend to be more random and pain-in-the-ass in nature.
There are some various nagging issues with IE7 and the site. The reason behind this, is that you cannot have IE7 and IE6 installed at the same time, so I would only have one or the other on my machine.
Recently I discovered a standalone version of IE6. Note that the site is going to be optimized for IE7 and not IE6, because IE6 is a piece of shit and if you haven't updated you are a fool. The site will still function to some extent in IE6, though.
For the record, I hate IE because it doesn't work the way it's supposed to, which makes it frustrating to develop in.
