IF YOU WERE A FINAL FANTASY CHARACTER, WHO WOULD YOU BE AND WHY?
Posts
I would be of course Vivi from FF9. Why? Because i am a cool and doomed black mage.
Then I could annihilate Evil Golbez-Calunio once and for all.
Though that has nothing to do with the plot.

No final fantasy character drinks enough for me to associate with.
I'd be Squall because I am cold, indifferent and secretly aaangst
also I wear this wherever I go:
Auron had the jug, yeah, but Jecht was literally, canonically an alcoholic. His drinking problem (until he quit during his journey with Auron, after drunkenly wrecking a dock) set in motion a lot of other subplots in the narrative.
I'd wear that necklace, or Titus one, that was pretty nice. Wasn't there a drunken character in a Final Fantasy, like drunken master style or something.. Or am I thinking of another Rpg?
Why do people hate zell? I didn't beat the game but he seemed like a pretty cool guy.
Favorites by the numbers:
I: Black Mage, probably, though Red Mage is more well-rounded.
II: Barely played the thing.
III: Barely played the thing.
IV: Tied between Tellah ("You spoony bard!") and FuSuYa.
V: Butz. Hands down. He might have a silly name, but I don't care.
VI: Locke Cole. It's hard to describe in a short sentence.
VII: Tifa Lockhart for obvious reasons (good looks and a decent fighter to boot), but also Vincent Valentine (sheer kick-assery).
VIII: I'm going to have to say Quists Trepe for this. I normally hate on Blue Mages, but this was the first FF that got it right for me.
IX: Dear god, Beatrix! She's playable for such a short period of time, but the setup of expectation for how awesome she is is amazing.
X: Auron for sheer kick-assery. Kimarhi comes close, but not quite close enough.
XI: Never played the thing.
XII: Baltheir is cool, but Basch.
XIII: Blightning. No one else comes even close. Sazh and Snow are pretty cool, but...
XIV: Never played the thing.

True, the later ports of the game had it at "Bartz". However, from what I understand, his name was originally "Butz". Then again, when I'm totally abusing Gil Toss with Mimic, names matter very little.
I can sympathize with the Gau and Red MAge bit.. Havent played many of the later ones, but for a long time I used to feel I was Terra. As a bookish, socialy awkward ten at the time the game was released, I very much empathised wiht Terra's struglle to figure out who she was and feeling out of place. Coming to terms wiht being gay has helped somewhat.

Zell. Cause I roll like that.
