DO YOU KILL BUGS?

Yeah, I mentally know they are animals, but I still think of them as a lower life form for some reason. I don't have a sensible explanation. I am just selectively callous I guess.
That sounds like Hitler in the making.
I used to be a "kill every insectoid" kind of person, but now I usually let spiders off the hook (in areas that are supposed to look ugly, like our basement and garage), since they help us with other more annoying bugs. I also have cats (six cats...), and they just love to kill bugs too, so we usually leave pest cleaning duties to them...
Otherwise...well, I don't show any mercy to anything. Especially things that can sting you, bite you, poison you, infect you, ...yeah.

I don't kill them I just eat them.
Recently, this came into my bedroom. It made such an annoying noise. I opened the window hoping it would fly out, but it didn't. I didn't want to sleep with it in my bedroom, so I decided to kill it. But then I took a closer look, and went with the obvious alternative: give it a pet name and take pictures. Meet Dimas:

He looks cool! It kinda looks like the leaf bugs in our area. But ours are much browner.

Hitler was actually a very strong advocate of animal rights. Ironic, no?
Well not so much, a category of animal lovers are peaple haters, and Celine who adored cats was a collaborationist.
@Calunio : that's a beautiful insect!

@ LockeZ, i think your feelings are kind of cold blooded. no matter what kind of life it is, its still LIFE. People, bugs, animal and plants. They are all alive. If it feels pain or not, should not have anything to do with it. I only kill them if its a need to be basis. If you think about it, you kill a bug you could be taking apart a family. to you that means nothing if you hurt a bug family, but to them its different, ya know.
EDIT: They could just be out getting food, and we kill them for nothing. I am pretty cretin you wouldn't like that happening to you.

A bug, a lot of the time, will live a day, and die due to something killing it.
Do you know, they allow the killing of bugs in movies, but not other animals? You can see how people think when it comes to bugs.

yea i know. point taken, still though. To see how some people just don't care, kind of gets under my skin.
You also know, every time you take a step, you kill some type of bug outside? It is physically impossible to go through life and NOT kill one. On purpose or otherwise. I bet every person kills up to and/ or more than a million bugs in their life time. Well more than a million. In your yard alone there are billions of different bugs.
I understand what you mean. I was talking about the people that go out of there way to kill them (i know several people like that.)

If you want to bring in plant life into it I doubt you feel much remorse when you pick a flower or make sure your garden is weed free (or mow the lawn, that's gotta hurt).
Some life is just more worth than other. The fact that you yourself divided the categories between people, bugs and animals even though all three are the same shows just how much you think so yourself.

Some life is just more worth than other.
Do you think it in absolute terms, or relative terms? I mean, is it an opinion thing, or do you think it's some sort of universal truth?
Do you know that I avoid picking flowers, now? and when I do, I don't feel that great, I love plants.

Relative terms.
