Anyway I am nervous about doing this switch in the middle of the summer games judging/hype. I'm worried about database loss.

What about the review system? If I recall correctly, Kentona mentioned to be working on some fixes. Will those be in rmn4 or we'll have to wait?
Also, what about the Misao voting system? Is it going to be improved after all? ...Just wondering. =P

I'm going to channel the ghost of WIP for a minute and say I also disagree with a script section. The rest of the features sound nice, but best of luck keeping that much stuff on the front page updated without angering half the users.

There are a few features I'm not crazy about, but overall everything sounds like a huge improvement! Great job!

If you're interested in your rm stuff looking like it's part of a serious game development site then I think you're gonna like the new layout and functionality.
I mean, rmn is already the coolest rm website out there based both on its userbase and its already existing functionality that you won't find anywhere else in the online rm community but RMN4 looks and feels almost like a full-blown online publication (if that makes any sense?). I think you'd be (even more) proud to have your work showcased on rmn when you see what it's like.

That wasn't the real rmn4. It was a joke page they set up to see if people would praise garbage to suck up to them.
What's wrong with you? There is no true reason you wouldn't want a script section. You're game designers. A script section only HELPS make games. Unless you're the type to want people to make their own scripts. "Welcome to the Internet". Nothing is private.

Well one thing is kinda weird with it though. There's a script section but no graphics or music section (unless that's what media is supposed to be, but it doesn't seem like that's the point of that). I really can't see any reason why it is like that except possibly the fact that scripts don't really take up a whole lot of space while images and music might.
With plug'n'play scripts it seems the site is saying "It's okay not to know how to script but god forbid should you be unable to make your own graphics or music."
