Ladies and gentlemen, I have caught wind of something that I think fans everywhere will be interested in. I'm not entirely sure of the details (because I can't read Spanish), but there is a fighting game currently in development featuring a truly VAST array of characters, including Alex from Rpgmaker!? The name of the game is Card Sagas Wars, and they're already far enough along in development to have a trailer with actual in-game footage. The spirte art for this game is absolutely beautiful, I wish I could sprite like that haha.

These are the characters I want to play as the most, and does anyone know if MUGEN works on the PSP because it would amazing to play this on the PSP.

Wow! Everyones invited! Best MUGEN game ever!

Damn that sucks haha, Neophyte says it's in the works, but right now it's virtually unplayable?
I remember seeing this a while ago. It looks really cool. Although most of the cards they have on the site won't be playable, they still have almost every character I can think of.

My issue with this, is that it's fairly uncreative. They spent all this time and effort to... take other peoples' characters and put them into a premade fighting engine that is all about giant ridiculous super movies.

If they really wanted to impress, they should have designed their own characters.

Also, the midget characters look dumb with that high of resolution.

Super Smash Bros (come on man it's the same thing).

I think it looks really great, but I don't understand why they used backgrounds that resemble PS+ games. It doesn't match well with the retro-sprites. ???
I keep thinking this is Carl Sagans Wars!

Super Smash Bros (come on man it's the same thing).
No it isn't the same thing, man. You probably don't understand Smash Bros. because you just think it's a FANBOY CIRCLE JERK when it's only HALF fanboy circle jerk. The rest is gameplay balance and options.

Plus, Nintendo uses their own characters and to good effect. Card Sagas Wars takes characters from pretty much every corner of the video game world and tries to shove them into this single game.
This looks fairly cool and the trailer was quite good. I will try this out whenever they release it. Is there a date yet?

Well I bought Super Smash Bros. on day one and I like it a lot but I really do think it's 100% fanboy circle jerk. I guess you can turn items off and everything and it sort of like a real fighter, but I'd rather play a real fighter at that point instead (like Mortal Kombat).

I know and especially because this is MUGEN it will probably be the most ridiculous and amazing thing ever. I think that this project is especially exciting for people are familiar with the MUGEN scene; apparently most MUGEN games just take sprites from random games and jam them together and people kind of think it's funny but whatever. This game is basically the ultimate and the most well-done version of that.

Also this game will have the same controls as Super Smash Bros. so it really is 100% exactly the same thing.
I've been following this one for quite a while through his site - the promise of regular updates containing new characters (some of which can be seen in the two trailers he's released) sounds great, he's gone on record saying that he's got plans for hundreds of playable characters to be in the final rosta, and that once he's unloaded all the wish-lists of those involved he might take on requests (might!) so the future of this little gem is sounding rosy indeed.

Myself, I'd want to see 'Asuna' from Negima, 'Roxas' from Kingdom Hearts 2 and 'Lloyd' from Tales of Symphonia making the cut.

Roxas is in. He's Card #423.
Lloyd is in, too. He's Card #294.
And Asuna is in. She's Card #443.

Surprisingly, all the Dragon Quest VIII characters are in, as is Will from Illusion of Gaia, Robotrek from the game of the same name, and the Secret of Mana characters. All the Final Fantasy heroes (heroine in the cases of VI and XIII) are in, too.

Not ALL the characters from the card list will make it to the fighting game VW, they said something like that a while back. Does anyone know if theirs an English version of tat tutorial, I really want to know what it's saying!

This point has been made, and I see what you mean. But my thing is; who cares? It looks pretty fun, and at the end of the day that's all that matters. Besides, the sprites are gorgeous.
