On Friday the 7th of October 2011, at 0:00am GMT, you will have exactly 23 days to make and submit the scariest, most horrific PC game in existence.
On Sunday the 30th of October 2011, at 0:00am GMT, the competition will end and the appropriate preparations will be made.
On Monday the 31st of October 2011, at 0:00am GMT, the games will be released into the world and the voting will begin.
Hi RPGmaker community! As you can probably tell I'm not a "local", I come from a fairly similar community which makes indie games and other stuff.
I'm not sure how familiar many of you are with game making competitions and game jams such as Ludum Dare but we are currently having our own Halloween themed one and everyone is welcome! There are even some prizes thanks to generous donations, but you should know that it's mainly for fun!
Check it out!

This topic kind beat you to the punch, methinks.
This sounds pretty cool. I wonder about the "no previous releases" rule though. Does that mean that you can't use open source music or other assets in the game? (since most of it has been released before. Especially if... say... I used out-of-copyright classical music or something)
@Deacon Sorry to hear that! It's worth pointing out this is completely non-commercial and as I say in the original competition post, it's not like the sort of competitions that "marketing schemes" come up with to try and sell you stuff - I don't make any profit out of this. It's for fun and I thought some people from here would be interested. The more the merrier, as they say.
@Marrend I think my competition is a bit different... this is a whole game you're making, not level designing, and it's open to any programming language or game creation program. Plus we currently already have 46 people signed up to compete after three days with more than a week to go before the competition even starts.
@Shinan That is a confusing rule, I grant you, I'm going to clarify that. Basically, yes you can use open source stuff, hence the "if you have permission" rule. The rule you're referring to is just mainly to stop people submitting games they've already made well in advance - not exactly fair, I'm sure you understand.

Haha. Among the top prizes is one of those dopey bitcoins xD
Interesting concept, but I detect serious flaws in a member-based voting system when the number of participants is into the stratosphere.

Guys, before you all get negative and skeptical, please read the topic. It isn't spam or anything. It's a genuine topic per se. And this competition has nothing to do with Liberty's topic. This competition is on a broader scale and is not even limited to RPG Maker. So please read through first before getting naive and posting negative stuff (for those who did)...
