RMN 2011 SUMMER GAMES RESULTS!
Posts
After a heavy night of debating between Calunio, Max McGee, and I, we've at long last have the results for you. It was a tough decision because all the games were pretty radical to play through and if we had it our way you'll all be winners! In the following weeks me and Max will be writing up articles as a follow up on our reasons. So to keep it brief here are the results.
First place I'm Scared of Girls
Second place Zephyr Skies: The Winter Sage
Third place Novella
Runner up Aetherion

What happened to Sister's Storybook?
And congratulations to the winners, very well deserved titles, and to every one.

Awesome, congrats guys. :>
Congratulations to all of the winners, and honestly, to most of the contestants!
This was an awesome crop of games and it sucked having to only pick three winners.

Congrats to the winners!
It was fun taking part in this event, looking forward to the next one.

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I haven't been paying much attention to this contest simple because I don't actually like surrealism. But now that it's done, I really ought to play the winning game. If the quality is high enough, I figure I will enjoy it.
That's the cool thing about contests. They get me to play things I wouldn't normally.

The first time someone dropped "Yume Nikki" as a comparison for I'm Scared of Girls I knew it was a lock.
Congratulations to Moga!
Congratulations to Moga!
I think it's worth noting that the purpose of events like this is to give some talents on RMN the opportunity and the motivation to create interesting stuff, not just to choose winners. Soli, for instance, never makes games outside events, and he's been part of some pretty awesome projects. Congrats to all!
And let's keep making surreal games, cause they're cool.
Btw, I don't like Yume Nikki much, so I don't think the comparison says a lot.

My question is : is choosing a, certainly, interesting game, but with no gameplay whatsoever, interesting but also somewhat unfinished maps and no ending a really reasonable choice as a first place winner ? yes, I 'm more and more curious of what were the justifications for that choice.
I've already done it, and Max and StarSkipping are going to post feedback pieces on the games and the contest in general soon. I've also written a review on I'm Scared of Girls. Justification is there.
