Taking in account the theme my favorite games are Sister's Storybook and Novella (not accounting the theme : Beyond the Grave was a lovely game.)
Maybe as first I would have chosen Sister's Story book, considering it is bugless, fun to play and finished, which are not minor things.

I've yet to play I'm Scared of Girls so I cannot comment on that.

Personally, I thought Zephry Skies was only really good for it's first go-around. After that, well, let's just say that the game's charm wore off. To each his own, I suppose.

Novella. The "Don't forget the ocean" thing I merely thought was a reference to one of the many sources NewBlack was making. I, too, had to "look that up".

Ah, Aetherion. One can see, publicly, what my thoughts on this game are.

My question is : is choosing a, certainly, interesting game, but with no gameplay whatsoever, interesting but also somewhat unfinished maps and no ending a really reasonable choice as a first place winner ?

This does not accurately describe the game that we chose as a first place winner. : )

ok, then where doesn't my description fit ? (I enjoy I'm Sared of Girls, but it's, for me, like playing a project with, still, a terrible lack of consistency, by "consistency, in case the word didn't mean what I think, I mean there's really very little to sink your teeth into).
I wasn't sure how surreal Aetherion actually was. It just seemed like a sci-fi/fantasy (I didn't play the whole game though, so I dunno). The Winter Sage was epic, I just had to play it over and over.

You mean "substance", not "consistency". And I enjoyed the basic exploration and battling gameplay of ISOG; I found the story to be the most substantive part. With the powerups and collectibles actually implemented, I think it would be a great game.

EDIT:

Y'arrrgh, matey, here be my feedbacks.
Don't agree with the results but whatever. I liked Sister's Storybook and Beyond the Gate more than those but probably not surreal as the others (but more of a game), especially that non-game-second-placed waste of space. :<
