Well LockeZ

At the moment there are two main Villains The leader of the Criminals and thugs, Morrick and then Her, Crystiria. Now Morrick ISNT the human that becomes Crystiria,
It is someone else(Still working on who and HOW they become Crystiria) The only way for someone else to become Crystiria is if Skyle dies and skyle dosnt die, ever in this game.

And yes, She will have more of a back story.
By the way, she didnt go on a Murderous rampage because they weren't paying attention to her, Im still figuring out why, but it could be apart of it. Maybe.
and that Telepathically communicating is a good idea. I might think of something around it.

I plan on introducing her bout half way. You find an old Book or Tomb or scroll or something telling you the Demon that lays inside of a crystal then somehow the character and Allies puts 2 & 2 together and realise that Crystiria is inside of the crystal waiting for the one she chose to bring back into her demon form.

So maybe something like this.

Before the man sealed of the Cultist entrance, he wrote some words on a scroll saying

"The Demon, Crystiria has been put back into her crystal form, do not wake her, do not let her fool you into thinking you will become immortal, It is all a lie. She will not give you what you wish, Please turn back, do not let this evil walk the world again, Let her suffer for what she did."

Then he walks back inside and grabs the CH and throws it out the window and into the water, for it to end up in a cave somewhere. He then seals of the entrance, kills himself while holding the note in his hand.

but how Skyle comes across him, im not sure. Maybe he in spirit from leads them to him & note. I dont know, i'll have to think about it abit more.

And ive never heard of a Villain that wants to be killed

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

What, you mean like... those cows from the Restaurant at the End of the Universe that want to be eaten, and have also been genetically engineered to talk and wait tables and recommend the most tender parts of themselves?
Oh yes because i soooo know what your on about.

You could make a villain who wants to be killed in the coolest way possible so he goes down in history.

As the reference would fall dead on anyone, for perhaps obvious reasons, I'm not at all surprised.

Anyway, let's forgo how Crystiria became a crystal for a moment. Let's concentrate on who wants her to re-awaken her, and why.

The "Thug" faction might believe that she grants ultimate power, and whoever has control of her will rule over all. The "Fantatic" faction, who worships her like a Goddess, might see certain signs that the Time of Awakening (or whatever) is nigh, and aren't below speeding up the process. These guys know that Skyle needs to die in order for Crystiria to awaken, and are actively seeking him out for that purpose.

There is only one faction that sees Crystiria as a threat that needs to be removed. They know the Skyles's death is one of the things that need to happen for her to awaken. Crystiria's awakening must not happen at any cost. Thus, the men and women of this faction can be party members, or helpful NPCs.
Marrend has the right of it I think with the break down of factions. I agree. I also think having three different groups will help your game a lot since it won't be the usual us versus them.

I was wondering how your main character got Amnesia. I always think that is an important thing to think about. Now if he is the only one who can awaken this demon, then it stands to reason she doesn't want him to know the truth at all, so could it be that he figured it out once and tried to do something about it, so she erased his memory? Also are you in love with that name? I just personally feel like calling the demon that comes out of the Crystal, Crystiria is a little uncreative? Just a personal thing and not necessarily something you should bother paying attention to.

I think you might also want to go with a more subtle kind of warning about the demon than HEY HERE IS EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HER SO LEAVE HER THERE IN THE CRYSTAL! Again totally up to you. I like your ancient text idea though. Maybe she is in a myth and they figure it all out over time.

Also I don't understand his original motive. Before he knows about the demon. I may be misunderstanding something here but it doesn't seem to me like he cares about the Crystal or Immortality. It seems like he just doesn't want to be killed. Shouldn't he be working towards just survival then? And not actually finding the Crystal? Or does he want the crystal because then he believes they can't kill him anymore? I guess I just want to know more about this Main Character.

Granted, amnesia is an overused trope for main characters in an RPG. However, it could be said that Skyle has amnesia as part and parcel of being one of the missing pieces of Crystiria. In other words, I am suggesting that he has no memory because he might have just been "born"! There could even be a prophecy that the "Fanatic" faction states that Skyle's "birth" is among the many signs of Crystiria's awakening.
@Hoddmimir

Skyle was attacked by one of the thugs, who wanted to power to find the CH, He thought they killed him when the thug smashed him over the head, That then course amnesia.

and he dosnt know about the crystal he has AMNESIA, So he cant care about it. Its not intill he gets told by the strange man, that he finds out..but after that im still unsure of what persuades him to go after it

and yes, I have always LOVED the word Crystal, and I know Crystiria is uncreative and not well thought of, but i like it.

@Marrend

I think your forgetting that ALL of the "shards"(worshippers) were killed by Crystiria(on her murderous rampage), but i like your idea of the factions, Maybe the "shards" are still roaming around in spirit from searching for Crystiria's Crystal form and some way or another they find out that Skyle has the power so they keep trying to kill him and then one time Skyle and Allies are being attacked by the thugs when the Spirit shards come and attack skyle and the thugs as well.

Also i like your idea about him HAVING the power to find the CH is part of the reason he got amnesia, the attack on him was just a coincidence..maybe

Edit: Maybe, the Crystiria gives him amnesia and after a few days she starts communicating with him, Lureing him to her but most people end up dieing eaither she taunts them that much that they kill themselfs or they die before they can find it somehow

I totally missed the part where Crystiria killed her worshipers. What I was eventually leading to was that even if she wakes up, she's not what anyone expects her to be. She does not grant unlimited power (in contrast to the "Thug" faction's angle), she's not a harbinger of the apocalypse (in contrast to the "Ally" faction's angle), and it's her preference to continue sleeping (in contrast to the "Fanatic" faction's angle).

It depends how long she's been in a crystal state. If it's only been a couple of years since her rampage (it's still fresh in people's minds), then yes, she'd have no devotees. If it's been, say, a thousand years (a video game cliche since Shining Force, if not before), there's probably some kind of cult out there, if not a full-scale religion.
Yes, I like the Faction idea.

But Cyrstiria is a demon. and EVIL one at that. why would she want to sleep?
Why would she go through thousands of years of finding someone just to stay a sleep.
Would she not want revenge after being killed and trapped in her Crystal form.

I plan on there being a small group of New shards. There is Only 4 of them.

Why four, because no one else believe that Crystiria is even real.

There names are.

Xiju - Leader
Charity - Follower/antagonist to protagonist( Tyro ends up dying. Because he grabbed the crystal with out thinking(with his bare hands, the man who killed Crystiria had Gloves on, there fore he was protected from her), Crystiria TRYED to enter his body but failed. Ended up killing him)
Yoi - Follower
Lore - Follwer

Why Does Charity Join the party.

For one, She is Xiju younger Sister, With Xiju as a older over protective brother as well as over bearing he made her follow him into becomming a shard and finding the CH. Yoi and lore and 100% Believers where Charity, isnt. She is only in it because of Xiju

She joins the party after her brother Smacks her across the face and abandons her for Skyle to find. she joins the party hoping to talk her brother out of such nonsense after Skyle telling her the Crystiria is 100% real and will over take his body.

I should mention that, Just because Skyle has the power means he is a most suitable subject for her. Tyro died because he was not strong enough to handle her. If someone else is strong enough they can take Crystira no worries. Im still working out if Xiju becomes Crystiria or not.

Ok... So I also want to know what Crystiria's angle is all about now too. I realize you said she is evil, but evil isn't really enough explanation for her motives either. I believe you just mentioned revenge. I like that. It's perfect. Revenge on who? The person who killed her and put her in the crystal? All of Humankind? Also how does this happen? The killing and trapping her thing. I suppose in your game Crystiria can never truly be vanquished for good? I am ok with that. It helps define her as an ancient unbeatable enemy but explains why we haven't seen her in a bit.

So recap on what I understand so far. You have a demon, trapped in a crystal. Who can only be released and awakened by one chosen individual, however, he is just chosen because he is strong enough... so someone else who was strong enough could possibly do it? (What kind of strength? Willpower, conviction, faith?) When she is awakened she takes over someone else's body so she has a form. (I like that a lot, btw.) She is worshipped by a cult like faction who during her last awakening she utterly annihilated. (For fun, blood, or something else?) Perhaps a new cult has formed, perhaps they haven't. The faction worships her so they know she in a crystal right? That seems to me where your hero finds it out and that the crystal isn't just a powerful artifact.

Ok. So your hero has amnesia cause he got hit in the head really hard and left to die. He is attacked by thugs again when they realize he isn't dead and so he starts running away from them. During the next while as he trys to keep avoiding and escaping them he learns why they are after him. They want the crystal. So now there is a switch in the story. Now at some point the crystal starts calling out to him telepathically or in dreams so he can find it. Presumably he follows it. Then learns the truth. Then decides to stop it.

My biggest concern at this point is that you are going to have to be careful with your secondary characters. If anyone joins the party early in the game it can't be because they want anything to do with a crystal, since the game hasn't gotten that far. At the second stage, allies would want the crystal for power not for stopping a demon since they don't know that part yet either. At the third stage the people that join you would want to fight the demon. The bigger problem though is you presumably want the earlier additions to the party to still want to be there even after each of these revelations.

Do I have my understanding correct thus far?
Yes. Pretty much.

Im Currently working a picture of Crystiria now, Will upload when i am done..or near done.

Now. I am Missing bits in my story. She wants revenge on the man that killed her but knows that isnt possible so she goes after man kind and anyone that trys to stop her.

Now. i think your confused. She is but at the same time isnt trapped in a crystal.
Crystiria has two forms. Demon & Crystal.
In her Demon from she is well, Humanoid Female demon. In crystal form, she is a small crystal and its only power is to find someone to absorb her, willingly or not.

She also dosnt just use the persons body, she transforms it into her shape.
So the person has to be to her needs. Maybe not strong but require something. I dont know quite what yet.

Her Motives for going on the rampage. Maybe she thought that they were losing intrest in her so she stating killing them all to teach them a lesson..or maybe the power of the sacrifices got to her...or maybe a mix of emotions and too much power caused her mind to go haywire and she killed every man/woman in sight...then got stabbed in the head.

No, not truely but pretty much killed.
Hmmm... well if the crystal is absorbed into a person's body is that what she plans to do to the main character? Is that why she wants him. I think I understand that now. Ok. So does anything of the person she transformed still remain within her? Emotions, ideas, quirks, etc... Maybe that explains why she went mad. The person she transformed and her really weren't quite compatible and it drove her crazy? Then maybe she just aborted the process herself and went back into crystal form to wait for a more suitable host?

It seems to me then, that one of the best ways to stop Crystiria would be to kill the person she wants as her host. But that would be at odds with what you were thinking originally.
That wont work. Crystiria believes that if someone can kill who she chose then they are suitable for her so she transfers the power over to them there fore she lives forever if she is in crystal form.

Mhmm i like that idea.

or maybe the man that killed her was asked by her after she had be hurt to many times(from the worshippers defending them selfs)to continue and she only had enough strength to say "Kill...me" he did so, feeling bad he killed himself because he killed her or something. like that.

and yes, she plans on using his body as the host.

Why does she have to be evil, or even a demon? Maybe she comes across that way because her more recent hosts (including the one that caused the rampage) was incompatible with her spirit? Whatever. For the moment, I'm running with the "evil demon" line of thinking. She wants revenge against the ones responsible for encasing her in a crystal, no doubt.

So Sykle come across the crystal, and it somehow gets absorbed into him. Some members of the "Thug" faction find and beat him. He survives the ordeal, but just barely: he wakes up in a strange town with amnesia. Then, "the voice" (Cyrstiria) calls out to him. Perhaps somewhat cliche, but how's that for an opener?
I think if when the crystal gets absorbed into him he is supposed to die and the demon is unleashed right then. Though! I love the idea of the crystal being inside him the whole time and it has to be awakened slowly in a process. So... if he dies she can't continue using him and would have to choose a new host and that explains why people would want to kill him because they think it means they can be the ones who gain the awesome power not realizing it will kill them and bring about a demon. Then the game turns into something less about finding a mythical crystal object and more about coming to grips with death, finding a way to prevent turning into a monster, etc... which seems to me to be much more compelling.
It also nicely explains the amnesia, the main character's motivation, the thugs motivation, how she communicated with him telepathically, why he is special, etc...
I acutally had an idea simmler to that.

Except the main character was female.

And Crystiria had been found and was under protection from people who may want to steal it because they thought it would give them imortallity. When the town is raided by a hored of monsters the MC has no choice but to run into the building where Crystira is. she ends up in the same room as her but an explosion happens, Breaking the crystal in half and knocking out the MC. She wakes up to find the whole building on fire, she has to escape. but before she can leave the room. a monster attacks her, sending her flying across the room. as she dose she lands on one of the crystal and only absorbing part of Crystiria, and thats where her form sets in, killing the monster and escaping the building but then she becomes week and turns back into the MC. & now the MC has thugs after her as well as the law.

Edit: Due to the explosion she gets amnesia.
So now she is on the run from the law and the thugs.

The Thugs because they believe that she is imortall when infact she only absorbed half of the crystal
and they want to find away to take that power from her

And the Law because they believe she will turn into a demon and kill everyone
and they want to kill her so that dosnt happen

Edit: this idea is set in a more Recent or future time.

Edit: Maybe only having half the crystal makes Crystiria less evil and she maybe connects with the MC on a emotional level
