I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

It would just look greener. The problem with these tiny cliffs (especially in rmvx rtp where you don't have diagonals) is that the face of the wall all looks the same. You can't really tell from a single screen that any parts of it are sticking further out or anything like that.

There are also quite a few shadows in places where there is nothing to make a shadow. Though it's hard to actually tell whether there's anything to make a shadow, for the aforementioned reason that all the walls look identical and it's nearly impossible to look at it and see a 3D terrain.
You can always use shadow for depth. But yes RPG VX wasn't made for multiple heights really. As for the shadow with nothing making a shadow that is RPG VX's problem and there are scripts to remove shadows so you have to manually shadow.

So I think the bottom line everyone always gets to is... don't use default RTP? But luckily on the Internet people can do as they please :-) Its your game :-)

Ah, can't you use the shift key to prevent that from happening with the shadows? I figured the shadow was just on the left edge version of the autotile.
Shift key would make it uglier because it makes a center tile with no edges.
And shift key doesn't remove the shadows either. I'm slowly easing out of the RTP tiles, but I've only been at this two months so aesthetics isn't my main priority right now as I'm still hammering out the storyline.
