ClosePeople are really dedicated to streamlining and optimization mods, so the games tend to run well on older computers anyway. There was even a mod for Oblivion called Oldblivion that killed the need for 2.0 shaders!

You can't spam restoration and whatnot anymore. You ONLY gain skill points if it has an effect; so if you're not actually healing your HP, you won't get any skill.
I'm not sure how this works with detect life, but I'd assume it's based on how long you hold it to actually detect stuff (I'm pretty sure it only lasts as long as you hold the spell).

My laptop is basically on beno's scale, although my only less-than-recommended area is CPU; I have a dual-core 2.13 GHz, which is not-so-amazing but can still work it with my solid graphics card. I think my laptop doesn't reach higher because I have a mobile nvidia card that canyourunit doesn't compare to the recommended graphics cards properly.
I hope to preorder tomorrow sometime, unless I convince my dad.

They all sound -amazing- except The Ritual, since 60s reanimation is, I'm pretty sure, a Novice-level conjuration spell.
The Mage - Those under the sign of the Mage will learn all magic skills 20% faster.
The Thief - Those under the sign of the Thief will learn all stealth skills 20% faster.
The Warrior - Those under the sign of the Warrior will learn all combat skills 20% faster.
The Lover - Lets you learn all skills a little faster, but not as much as the Thief, Warrior and Mage stones.
The Apprentice - Doubles your Magicka and Magicka Regeneration Speed, but makes you twice as susceptible to spells.
The Atronach - Bonus to magicka pool and magicka absorption but reduces magicka regeneration. (don't know amounts)
The Serpent - Ability to paralyze enemies for 5 seconds.
The Shadow - Allows you to cast an Invisibility spell once per day.

The Steed - Lets you carry more, and your equipped armour doesn't slow you down.

It saddens me that necromancy is measured in 'seconds', I was hoping it'd be much longer term than that. I wanted to construct an undead army, without cheating.

I might too, my PC is only slightly above minimum specs, so I guess it will get choppy --> kill the flow.
Besides, I will buy the console version as soon as it ships to my favourite shop, and then I will "pirate" the PC version when it's aviable, to try if my PC can run it smoothly, and if yes, I will play it on PC... if not, console version it is. I'm not buying the game twice just to see if my PC can run it.
Consoles might even get mods this time around (though they DID plan that for oblivion too).
