SKYRIM HYPE THREAD: UNDEAD CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE DRAGON'S SOUL

Buy the perks that halve the magicka cost of your spells, and you should be pretty much golden.
I had the perks, for all my spells (novice and the one after that), but was still running out fast during combat. True my mage is only around level 9, but still having a lot of trouble.
Worst was fighting with witches. Those goddamn women came at me two at once, both casting the magicka draining Sparks. I managed to get a few spells off and hurt them a bit, and then ran out because of the constant draining. Never replenished it after that, they constantly drained me dry again and again. Then I died :)
The other time, I got them into a fight with some bandits, so they left me alone while I fired off spells at them, and luckily killed them. So I went to meet the Hagraven, only to get roasted by a single spell. Ouch.
Playing my mage is quite challenging, I will let her gather dust for a while and first concentrate on my third (probably main) character, a beautiful dual wielding nord heroine clad in heavy armor, concentrating on alchemy. I first wanted to give her light armor, but heavy armor looks better from what I can tell, and it's perks seem better too, and the perk for zero weight seems like an overkill.
Though I hate the fact that most of the armor perks only work when you are wearing the full set of armor, i.e. when I don't want to wear a helmet, I will lose most of the bonuses from perks. Annoying. Will probably set my helmet to one of the two hotkeys, and put in on during tough fights. (I still wish there was an option to "hide helmet" like in some other games, would be awesome)

My helmet looks awesome, but I never see it because I play in first person.
I had the same thing with a dwarf helmet I found.
I sometimes play in 3rd person when I'm just running from place to place or want to take an epic screenshot; I feel like I see my dude's helmet enough.
I've been playing on Expert the whole time and never looked back. I did turn it down to Adept for one crazy boss in Geirund's Hall, but otherwise I've been happy with Expert.
It helps that you can tailor the difficulty to whatever you want just by attempting easier or more difficult dungeons. =P

I started over with the sole purpose of killing every npc in Skyrim.
To start I walked along the mountains south west of the start point. I saw northern lights, and found a vampire dungeon. In there, found a place to sneak against a wall to cheat my sneak up. So, taped my controller in place. Woke up at lvl 17 with 100 sneak. Yes, I probably screwed the game for me, but it sure will help for killing people in their sleep!

Dudesoft's approach to this game is more or less the opposite of mine.
It's a gigantic difference in armor rating too, at least for heavy armor with 'Well Fitted'; mine jumps between something like 96 without helmet to 250 with it! I like rolling no-helmet also (makes my dude look less anonymous and more heroic) so I've got my helmet favorited, and I pop it on for tough fights/pitched battles. It works for me.
I also frequently pop in and out of third person, to see my dude, but I can only really fight/loot/explore in first person.
I've been in Adept the whole time. I keep wanting to switch to Expert to see if it's even more fun, but I am having too much fun as is to risk it.
At Level 21. I have three swords now.
Elven Sword of Fire (20 pts. Fire Damage, 26 Base Damage)
The Pale Blade (20 pts. Frost, 40 pts. Stamina damage, and Fear on anything lower level than you (so Level 20 or lower) Base Damage 26)
Sundershock (self made, self enchanted Exquisite Dwarven Sword. Base damage 34. 12 pts. Shock Damage),
Has anyone else performed any decapitations (One-Handed Perk) yet? This game is fucking violent!

I obsess more about about how my housecarl looks than how my own character looks. (Anyone else notice that all the housecarls in the game are female? Well, all the ones I've seen) Up to now I've been giving her gear that improves her bowmanship to make her into a long-range terror and that's been working out pretty well, but lately it's bothering me how unsightly she looks. I wanna dress her in more feminine clothes. Unfortunately, feminine clothing is either hard to come by, or I don't like the selection, or she won't put it on anyway if the armor rating doesn't meet her standards. Curse these strong Nord women :(
For pov I use all three. I think 1st person lends itself best for dungeons, 3rd person over-the-shoulder (weapon sheathed) for towns, and 3rd person centered (weapon drawn) for "overworld" travel.

Big surprise.

I have two daggers, though I pretty much only use one of them. One is Mehrune's Razor which has a chance to instantly execute an enemy. The one that I use more often is a glass dagger I crafted aeons ago, smithed to legendary stats and enchanted with a chance to stun for 1 second. Chance-on-hit stun is comically overpowered... shit just flops around on the ground flashing green while I stab it to death, including some "bosses."
Damnit. Shadowmere fell off a mountain and died. Seemingly nothing can out-damage her regen except impacting the ground at a high velocity, apparently. This makes me very, very upset.
You know the next game will be called Elder Scrolls AkaVIr
And how it connects to the dragons, etc.
Just like how Dragonborn in Oblivion connects to Skyrim.
Not sure if next one is gonna be anyone of the other countries.
Summerset Isle could be a expansion for Hammerfell or Valenwood.
There's also a map here and to guess the next game.

Not sure if they gonna do Akavir yet. there's still more other countries to explore before
we move there.

I doubt they'd do anything from Akavir. That'd require new races that would be difficult to animate (slug people? snake people?) and they still have a lot of Tamriel to go.
My guess is Elsweyr or Valenwood. Probably the latter, because CAT PEOPLE ARE WEIRD and it probably wouldn't help sales to have uncanny desert of furriez: the game.
I did freak out when I saw the title zoom out of "IV" though, the first time I played Oblivion. Well played,CzarinaBethesda.

Maybe High Rock or Hammerfell, they could be two expansions for Skyrim maybe. Like Morrowind did for VVardenfell.
Hammerfell is near and close to Skyrim at most.

Hammerfell and High Rock were where Daggerfell was set.
I actually want to see Black Marsh! That would be unexpected and possibly very different? It's Argonian territory.
Anyway! I found a book of riddles in Skyrim, and some people maybe won't find it or don't read books... So, here are the riddles!
---------------
Q: A metal neither black nor red
As heavy as man's golden greed
What you do to stay ahead
With friend or arrow or stead
Q: A man says, "If you lie to me I will slay you with my sword. If you tell me the truth, I will slay you with a spell." What must you say to stay alive?
Q: A Bosmer, was slain. The Altmer claims the Dunmer is guilty. The Dunmer says the Khajiit did it. The Orc swears he didn't kill the Bosmer. The Khajiit says the Dunmer is lying. If only one of these speaks the truth, who killed the Bosmer?

I kind of hope they do another mix; Elsweyr and Valenwood would be terrific, specially to see the aftermath of the Aldmeri Dominion's hold on them.

This is actually true of most horses; they will fucking SOLO A CAVE BEAR, NO PROBLEM but put a six foot drop in front of them and they're fucking toast.
@Dudesoft:
1) Lead
2) No fucking idea.
3) No fucking idea and having read the answer I still don't get it. If anyone can explain #3 to me in a way that makes sense, I will give them 5 Makerscore.
But I'll be honest, I read (and forgot) that book of riddles in both previous entries. In Morrowind, there was a red or brown book of riddles too, which was a quest objective.
The next game will quite possibly be set in Akavir, although I'm opposed to that in principle until all of the provinces get a Skyrim-quality treatment. The truth is, Akavir has a LOT of appeal and a lot of wow factor; it's as far from traditional fantasy as you can possibly get in many ways. Tiger-Dragons.
I wish it would be set in the Summerset Isles, though, I want to take the fight to the Thalmor, badly (assuming they even survive Skyrim; I assume they will, it'd be pretty hard to kill them from Skyrim). Unfortunately, "Summerset Isles" is a pretty fucking weaksauce subtitle. And generally speaking, Bethesda WILL go for the coolest sounding title. That's why we don't have
The Elder Scrolls II: High Rock
The Elder Scrolls III: Vvardenfell
or
The Elder Scrolls IV: Cyrodiil
I really am not that interested in a game focused solely on Elseweyr, Black Marsh, or Valenwood. Too many Cats, too many Lizards, and too many fucking Elves respectively. Although maybe Valenwood under the Thalmor would be kind of neat.
If the next game was set in "The Aldmeri Dominion" full stop (Summurset and Valenwood), that'd be awesome although of course I want the option of fighting them.
I also hope that there WON'T be a big time jump between V and VI. This new setting is exciting. There's all kinds of aspects of it I want to explore. I don't want to move on even a hundred years, let alone two hundred. Let's stay third century 4E, please.
Speaking of which, does anyone know if Barenziah is still canonically alive? I forget how long Dark Elves live.
Maybe High Rock or Hammerfell, they could be two expansions for Skyrim maybe. Like Morrowind did for VVardenfell.
That would be awesome, but I doubt it; both places are too big for expansions. Remember that Morrowind didn't even include all of Morrowind, JUST Vvardenfell, the expansions were even tinier (specifically "one city" and "an even smaller island") and IIRC Daggerfall was only PART of High Rock. I'd settle for big-ass cities in High Rock and Hammerfell (or even another city in Mainland Morrowind, which I'd love to revisit) which we could visit as huge but enclosed locations, Mournhold style, but I doubt we'll even get that.
If we look at The Elder Scrolls series as a whole:
* Everywhere got "half a game", if that, by inclusion in Arena.
* High Rock and Hammerfell both got a game by inclusion in Daggerfall.
* Morrowind gives Morrowind one game. That's easy.
* Oblivion is one for Cyrodiil.
* Skyrim is one for Skyrim.
* Let's call The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard another half game for Hammerfell.
* And An Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire counts for no one, since it's not set on Tamriel.
Out of the nine provinces, that leaves us with:
* Black Marsh: 0.5 Games
* Cyrodiil: 1.5 Games
* Elseweyr: 0.5 Games
* Hammerfell: 2.0 Games! (arguably 1.5)
* High Rock: 1.5 Games
* Morrowind: 1.5 Games
* Skyrim: 1.5 Games
* Summurset Isles: 0.5 Games
* Valenwood: 0.5 Games
If we remove the .5 for Arena and the .5 for Redguard, that's....
* Black Marsh: 0 Games
* Cyrodiil: 1 Game
* Elseweyr: 0 Games
* Hammerfell: 1 Game
* High Rock: 1 Game
* Morrowind: 1 Game
* Skyrim: 1 Games
* Summurset Isles: 0 Games
* Valenwood: 0 Games
So if equitability is at all an issue for Bethesda, the next game should be set in Elseweyr, Black Marsh, Valenwood, or Summerset. Out of those, my order of preference would be:
* Summerset
* Valenwood
* Black Marsh/Elseweyr tied for last.

By the way, my game has gotten retardedly glitchy/buggy in the past two days. Anyone else seeing any glitches/bugs? Usually nothing fatal or even truly inconvenient, mainly bizarre eye-popping visual glitches.
One thing that seems to be happening continuously is that the skeletons of dragons I've killed RISE TWITCHINGLY OUT OF THE GROUND WHEN I APPROACH THE SPOT THEY WERE SLAIN, which is kind of awesome as glitches go.
I've seen that too. It's probably the game shifting a no-physics skeleton with a physics one as you get close enough to interact with it. Since this is Gamebryo++ or something you get the same physic'd effect you get with Oblivion where you see a clean desk then you tap something on one end and the whole desk gets thrown in disarray.
