Looks like I need to start Dwemering it up. Does the shield need to charge up like the actual Restoration wards?

I really like how a shopkeep's wares are actually on display; if you steal all of Belethor's books, he won't have any for sale. If you buy all of his tomatoes, there won't be any in the produce box.

I don't think it needs to charge. The ward animation goes up instantly. The quest for the shield isn't inside a dwemer ruin, but you delve into one to complete it. The second and third screenshot are from that particular dungeon.

You fucker, tell me how to get inside. UESP doesn't know yet. (I hope it's not always heavily tied to a questline.)

only found one dwarven ruin, had to climb all the way up to a balcony, only to find a barred door inside... Those ruins are probably connected to a quest or something.

That's definitely Avanchnzel. It's the third or fourth one I've discovered and the most recent: I was REALLY disappointed I couldn't find a way inside. They've all been impenetrably locked, although I found a LOADED storeroom off of Mzulft that I could access.

Anyway my fourth character isn't doing any of the six main quest lines (Dragonborn, Stormcloak, Imperial, Winterhold, Brotherhood, Guild) and is just doing sidequests and stuff, and I wanted him to be my main Dwemer ruin explorer, so I hope that access to ALL of the ruins isn't closely tied to questlines. I just accidentally spoilered myself that Mzulft, at least, is quest-related.

Many of the dwemer ruins are tied to main quests. I know of two that are not, and I know I've found one that I could just outright walk into, but I forget which without pouring over my journal. The two quests are Peryite's daedric quest and one from the barbarian girl in Riften (Mjoll the Lioness or somesuch). The barbarian girl has to like you to give you the quest--I initially told her I wanted to join the thieves guild so she didn't want anything to do with me, but I won her over after building my Riften reputation up I think.

Also, not every dwemer ruin looks like one from the outside. I found a pit kind of between Azura's shrine and the nearby dragon roost that is just a straight drop into a cavern that connects to a dwemer ruin.

I just realized that all of Markarth is built in a Dwemer ruin.

I had never visited Markarth before.

I must have a glitch in mission in action, because I saved Thorald along with his brother tagging along, and went to the arrow icon and nothing happens, I guess I missed out something at the prison.

Well, it's still a Bethesda game, so quest-related glitches happen, unfortunately.
While I completed this quest with no problems (aside from taking it on alone and having to kill all the people in that fort...ouch), on my first save, Reyda's corpse for the quest in Ivarstead didn't spawn, so I couldn't complete it , while on my current character it did, no problem.

Anyways, blood dragons, woooooot, I wasted almost all of my health potions on one of those (I constantly keep running out of health potions, damn). Not to mention all the other higher-level enemies I encountered so far with my epic shield character.

Like for example....

a Wispmother ... killed me so bad
a Spriggan Matron ... managed to kill one of those, with a bit of luck and a LOT of health potions
an Ice Mage ... he just blasted me away in a few spells, barely managed to jump from the wall and make a run for it with almost no health left, while being slowed to a almost complete stop.

Mage-based enemies really put the hurt on me, I can shrug off most melee attackers, but some of those spells... damn.

Get or make Resist potions and don't be afraid to chug 'em. Skyrim is a game where you should use your items as you need them, or even as a precaution. If you wear armor, get some potions of the Warrior/Knight as well (they fortify light/heavy armor).
I'll echo what Craze says about resist potions. I dread going up against dragon priests without them. Well, I did before I had Shadow Warrior, which is overpowered.
Besides which, Elder Scrolls is basically a Monty Haul. Years of playing other RPGs trains us to want to reload a save file when we use a potion we didn't actually need. Elder Scrolls trains us to shrug and go on ahead to the next room where there's probably half a dozen more potions we won't actually need.

It may of not been a bug after all, I had to go to near the place where they kept Thorald, at the side of it, and it activated a scene where you are thanked for saving him.

I was abit confused when said "we have to go as far as possible from this place". There was a rock formation that could been where the quest ended, because of some white marker there. what?

Holy shit Markarth is nuts. This city is MADE of quests.
Enchanting 100 = 100% Free Destruction/Restoration spells. The effort was worth it.

Also, anyone want to buy my remaining 80 Iron Daggers? The NPCs keep running out of money.

Master level Destruction spells are worthless. : (

Blood dragons aren't that bad. I find that they go down very quickly and easily when you use a bow and strafe a lot.

Problem is, I don't use a bow, and I don't use any damage spells either. Only sword and shield with a bit of support magic. So I have to take all the damage it dishes out while it's in the air, and hope it will land soon. Then I move in and do as much damage as I can while timing my blocks against the dragon's attacks.

But they aren't THAT hard, true, while I wasted so many pots on my first blood dragon, during the fight with a second one, I didn't have to use any potions, thanks to healing spells and proper block timing.

Are you playing on PC? There are already mods for that on skyrimnexus.
Dude, just use a bow. They weigh little and arrows weigh nothing. Dragons are the only time I use a bow. Regarding destruction... I've read that it is supposed to scale damage with skill but that it is borked (according to Redditors, at least... static damage could be intended for all I know).
