RPGM2K3 - COLLECTING "SKILL STONES" - X NUMBER OF STONES = NEW SKILL UNLOCKED

Okay, so yeah I know, I'm annoying now.

Basically, my Soldier is a dumbass. He's got a big sword and lots of armour, but no skills. But across the land are "skill stones". A crazy old man tells him if he collects these "skill stones", then he will bestow great powers to him.

So collecting 1 "skill stone" unlocks a new skill.

Get 2 more, another skill unlocks.

Get 3 more, you get the idea.

Anyone wanna throw me a bone as to how to get started here? Just a basic outline will do, as I know once that little light-bulb above my head comes on I'll be away...

Let me know where you're at with this; I can spell out exactly how to do it if desired. It should be pretty easy.
I'll be honest, right now I've got a 8 month old girl on my knee being all giggly and stuff... but game-wise, I have 10 skills of differing power/strength and... thats it.
There are a few ways to do this... I'd say get 8 items with a common event that will count the amount you have. When you have 8 remove the 8 and give you 1 skill.
